Ive put a watermark on this one because its quite big so if anyone wants it without the water mark just give me a shout! ive got a few photos of this flower now…but i really like the flower its so pretty…ill probably gather them all up and put them in a series, stlil got a few id like to play about with.

My neighbours were kind enough to let me photograph their beautiful roses this summer. A single red rose is sitting on white fabric. Selective lighting was placed around the rose to bring out it’s depth and shadows. Taken in Aranjuez, a little town approximately 45 minutes outside of Madrid. I had just completed my visit of the Palacio Real and was walking aimlessly through this sleepy town. I noticed from afar that there was a gathering at the Real Iglesia de San Antonio, which is preceded by an enormous square and presumed it was a wedding. From that distance it was difficult to tell. It was only when I was making my way back towards the train station that I actually visited the site of this beautiful church and realized that the rose petals, rice and confetti were still on the stoop. The smell of rose petals was absolutely beautiful. Such a shame that so many churches no longer allow you to throw rose petals or rice because of the hassle of clean up. Featured in European Everyday Life in October 2008
