Me and my Dad have currently got a black and white theme going for this weeks photography, so this is one I took outside in the garden whilst the sun was shining. I loved the soft effect the sunlight made shining through the petals, so shot from below.

I love sunflowers, I am a Leo and the sunflower is the flower closest to my astrology sign. / This is a newly opened sunflower in all of it’s glory and I chose to use the flood filter, without any wave action to mirror it’s magnificence. I thought this lovely sunflower looked rather sultry with it’s pretty golden petals being tousled in the wind that blew through here today. I was reminded of those shampoo commercials: a pretty girl with gorgeous shiny locks, tossing a magnificent mane of hair around. / Or maybe I’ve just been spending too much time in the garden surrounded by these 12 foot amazons. =) /

Sure he likes lumberjacks but thats OK, they sleep all night and work all day. This photo is taken as is, with an olympus c770 camera- thats now olde with a mere 4megapixels.
