I’ve bought six new IKEA glasses but one of them got broken when I washed it for the first time. Of course, I wouldn’t just throw it away, as well as my daughter couldn’t throw away a Camellia blossom she has found fallen at the ground two days later… / I believe these two imperfect subjects made a perfect combination. What do you think?

I brought myself a new ‘old’ lens – a Pentacon M42 1.8/50mm from an old Praktica 35mm film camera. It has a 42mm thread so with a cheap adapter from ebay I can attach it to my D-SLR. I’m using the Sony A200 at the moment. Of course, it has to be used manually….but it has terrific bokeh. If you are unsure, Bokeh, (derived from Japanese bokeaji ボケ味, “blur”) is a photographic term referring to the appearance of out-of-focus areas in an image produced by a camera lens using a shallow depth of field.

Spring comes early in Cornwall and these primroses are enough to encorage the soul that warmer weather is on the way. I love the heart shaped petal on one of the flowers.

This is a macro of a cherry blossom shot with a canon 100 macro f2.8 with the canon 50mm reversed onto the front of the 100. Tedious work to say the least, but I thought this one turned out ok.
