  • Vincent’s Cat Recently I’ve been looking at Vincent Van Gogh’s paintings. I love his irises and wanted to paint some myself. Their complicated forms and brilliant deep blues captivated me. As some of you may know I have a fondness for cats. During my life I have had two exceptional ginger cats ‘Victor’ and ‘Mittens’ who were very dear to me; this is dedicated to their memory. Acrylic on canvas / Size: 30cm x 30cm Original SOLD

  • This is our Frankie. He passed on a few weeks ago. He was only 10 years old. It’s always very sad to lose young ones. I painted this imagining he is now in heaven filled with beautiful stars.

  • Size: 6×6 inches / Medium: Acrylic / Support: Ampersand Gessobord I have many cats that were all rescued from my neighborhood. This is one of them “Hunter.” He is so special to me for reasons that I cannot explain. This connection comes from somewhere deep in my soul. A few days before Christmas, he came down with pneumonia. His doctor’s diagnosis was partially collapsed lung. It really scared me. But his antibiotics has been working so well that he is now almost completely recovered. I am so thankful to start the new year with him beside me. With love and respect to life, I have just finished painting this.

  • This Tabby cat portrait consists of 6 layers (the background, a texture layer over the background, the cat, and 3 layers of a lovely charm I received from a dear friend for Christmas…hence the title :) All images are from my own library. • Size: 8×10 inches / Medium: Acrylic / Support: Ampersand Gessobord This is Hana (means “flowers” in Japanese). She passed on in January 2009. About 8 years ago, she started to show up in our backyard and spent all day sleeping in one of my flower pots. Every time we brought food to her, she hissed and tried to bite. One day, we brought her indoor and she immediately turned into a very friendly cat. She had never hissed at us after that. We concluded that what Hana really wanted was a home. Although she never liked other cats much, she loved human contact. We don’t know her age. Her vet thinks she was an old cat when she passed.

  • Size: 11×14 inches / Medium: Acrylic / Support: Stretched canvas This is Billy. He has the most amazing eyes. We adopted him about three years ago. For some reason, he had no undercoat. All he had was just a single layer of rough topcoat. His doctor thought that he had some kind of allergy that prevented him from absorbing nutrients. He now has both undercoat and topcoat and gained a lot of weight. Yes, he is one healthy, happy guy!

  • Zina had 5 kittens including this one we call Tighe.

  • ACEO / miniature art of a beautiful Tabby called Neska, with amber eyes, done with coloured pencils and ink on drafting film. Neska’s eyes are actually green in colour but I wanted to add to my series of artwork featuring cat’s eyes ( Emerald Eyes, Sapphire Eyes and Turquoise Eyes). There is such diversity in the colours that cat’s eyes come in and I never tire of admiring the beauty of their eyes. Reference photo for this artwork was taken by Ainhoa Pcb http://www.flickr.com/photos/ainhoap/455734885/ and was used with her kind permission.

  • ... or some food! This is my dear chubbycat Strider. His favorite place for a snooze is in front of my computer screen with his head resting on the cabinet door. He was snoring so loudly that he didn’t hear the camera LOL!!! / (Strider was a feral kitten rescued from a local shelter 5 years ago.)
