I’ve finally had a chance to add a few images to my portfolio, so far only a few of them are available for sale because I need to take bigger pictures or ones of the final artwork that actually has my signature on it. A few images will remain as “not for sale” because they are commissioned artwork that I do not have permission to profit from print sales. In addition, have three new dog acrylic paintings nearly completed that I will be adding later this week, hopefully. Yep, as you can probably tell, I’m mostly a dog painter. Some people see dead people. Well, I paint dogs. And other animals, specifically pets such as cats and horses, because I am a pet portrait artist, but dogs are my usual subject matter and the major inspiration for my artwork. Ready for a shameless plug? You can have a look at my online gallery here http://www.pencilportraits.com.au Ta-Ta for now Michelle / (that dog artist)

“Cat portrait” was featured in the group Cats and Dogs! This was several day ago and they have revolved the features, but I wanted to send out a thank you anyway! (You can still view it on the second page of the features, at least on this date and maybe for a couple days.) I was so excited to see this happen Friday; but have been swamped with all sorts of things, and then Redbubble went down! That was sure a shock; so glad things are OK again! Anyway, thank you so much to the hosts, especially Angie, for notifying me on the artwork page! This image was a mixed media departure from even enhanced photography, and I was pleased so many people enjoyed it. Thank you again, so much, for the extra special attention to this piece of my artwork! Have a great Valentine’s Day! All my best, Randi Bailey / aka Infoframe Dynamics Cat portrait /

  • A new and interesting project...
    by Linda Costello Hinchey

“This world was never meant for one as beautiful as you.” ~ Don McLean / —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-...

“This world was never meant for one as beautiful as you.” ~ Don McLean / —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-— / A year or so ago, I did a commissioned portrait for a couple of their beautiful Mini Sheltie. (It’s in my gallery). Recently, however, Candy passed away. I received a request from the owners to have a memorial plaque of some sort done to put in the yard over her grave. This is a first for me. So, my mind went nuts with ideas. What I LOVE about this commission is that these two wonderful people trust me enough to give me full creative leeway. And I came up with the idea of doing an etched portrait w/epitaph on a flat slab of marble. They said they would find a piece of marble that they liked. Interestingly, they found a 1’ X 1’ piece of tile from the local tile and floor co. The marble that they sent has soft pink swirls and peach to light brown graining. I had no problem etching the portrait on the tile. (and if you plan to do this, be SURE to wear a MASK and protective eye wear!! No kidding!) My problem turned out to be that it is very hard to see the soft white etchings of the portrait in the marble. Not enough contrast to make the portrait pop out. So I had to think of something to rub down in the porous etchings that would remain permanent but not stain the polished marble. I’m experimenting now with a permanent marker. Originally, I wanted the portrait to look like a b/w sketch. But black comes off way TOO contrasty and Candy looks more like a Border Collie. So I am going to go back in with brown tones to capture the true look of a Sheltie. Wish me luck!!!
