... At least for me ! / This picture was taken in Pisaq near Cusco, Peru’ in 2006 ! / The ruins of Pisaq is about 20 miles from Cusco and like the more famous Machu Picchu was an important city during the Inca empire. / It sprawled across three mountains at the altitude of about 3600 mts, offering visitors spectacular views.

Cusco, Peru ! During one of my daily walk in Cusco, I just sat and rest a little.. no other option at 3200 mt than take it easy..! the two women on the left made feel it was just the right moment to take this picture..!!!! /
Taken a few hours out of Lima on our way to Huanuco, Peru. It’s quite the spectacular drive. Unfortunately my old camera didn’t do as good of a job as I would have liked.
Cusco, Peru’ ! / While walking in Cusco a few days ago I met this little girl, Flor, and her sister Yolanda ! I had already taken a picture of them last year ” Flor y Yolanda ” and when I showed them a copy of the photo.. they were so impressed that they asked me to take more pictures. This is just one of the many I took ! She is so confident and loves to be photographed !!! I love this picture for the way she poses here, the way she smiles, her spontaneity.. and the beautiful contrast of colors !!!
Cusco, Perú !!! / This is one of the first shot I took in Cusco this year !!! / I had just arrived and I was feeling a bit strange and not really in the mood to take pictures of people.. I was maybe thinking about life a bit too much ! / But when she passed by I said something funny to her and pressed the bottom !! / I´m glad i did !
Pisaq, Perú ! / I had already walked up to the Temple of the Sun in Pisaq a few times.. but this time I noticed how beautiful the color of the green mountains was in a late afternoon..
Pisaq, Cusco – Perú - / I met those two little girls from a little village near the ruins of Pisaq, close to Cusco. / At the beginning they were a bit shy and they didn’t seem very keen to be photographed. / But I gained their trust after chatting a little bit.. and I managed to take a few pictures of them.
Probably one of the most photographed places on the planet, but at least I struck lucky and managed to get 5 of the 11 resident llamas to stay put while I got some shots. Machu Picchu, Peru.
Señor Tuco is a Toucan who I met in Peru! It was love at first sight! Part of the reason for that was because on our first meeting, in our Hotel near Nazca, he flew into my eye! :o) Despite being a bit of a gannet (pardon the comparison) and begging for food at the breakfast table, Señor Tuco, as pictured here in what I think is a Pepper Tree, is a free spirit – a free bird! The fact that he lives in the barren coastal desert instead of the lush interior jungle, makes me think he may have fallen out of the nest and hit his head as a chick! :o)
Cusco, Peru´ 2007! My little friends Flor and Yolanda while having an ice cream with their lovely alpaca..!!
Ayacucho, Peru ! Quechua and Aymara were the main languages spoken by the native people of the central highland of South America before the arrival of the spanish ! / In the rural areas of Ayacucho, in central Peru, like in the areas around Cusco the majority of native people still speaks Quechua and some of them barely spanish ! / I didn´t meet many tourists during the time spent in this part of Peru and i really felt immerse in a different reality ! / .

Somewhere near Juliaca, South of Peru ! While traveling by bus from Puno to Arequipa I found myself in front of this scenery and managed to get one decent shot despite the wobbling bus ! / This is even more amazing considering the altitude is around 3000 mt !
