A salute to my favourite INXS song “Johnson’s Aeroplane”. “From a small aeroplane, you can see the sea. Lots of blue, very deep blue”. This week I had the incredible luck of flying in a 4 seater plane and having my first try at aerial photography – great fun!! It was such a fantastic day and Perth was looking its best on a 27 degree spring day. One of Perth’s most photographed waterscape. The best photographs tend to be those unplanned moments that don’t come along all to often, when mother nature and timing cross paths. As Ansell Adam said: ””A good photograph is knowing where to stand”” but I think it is also knowing…when. I think I was extremely luck to catch this moment, as I have seen hundreds of photos of this place, but I think I have captured the amazing symmetry that the nature hides most of the time.

Home Sweet Home. The Blue Boathouse, Mounts Bay Road, Perth. Western Australia. I’ve finally dragged my lazy feet to the Blue Boathouse down at Mounts Bay Road, Perth. Despite being a 20 minute drive by the freeway, I never seem to allocate the right time to visit this magnificient icon. It’s possibly one of the most photographed building in Western Australia, and I cannot object it anyway if it was. edits: Realigned, adjusted contrast/brightness. The Crawley Edge Boatshed on the Swan River, One of the most iconic landmarks in Perth. The Boatshed is believed to have been built in the 1930’s. I was lucky to take my camera this morning when we went walking our dog. I normally don’t bother as I am usually rushing quick to get ready and out for work. However today being Sunday we could take our time and my wife suggested that I brought it as she saw the first glimpes of pink in the morning sky. We reached the road down by the lake (Joondalup Lake) and the dawn sky was alive and vibrant… an amazing sunrise….
