I have the scanner installed and it does work! Apparently, I cannot press the scan button and have it connect to the computer, which is a little odd, but I can run it through Corel Photopaint and that is quite good enough! Here are some of my recently scanned doodle sort of sketches: / Shelba / Pugnacious Clarity Click on them for a larger view. I decided to go with Image Shack for showing such things as scans, because I thought it would be easier on me and Red Bubble to do so. Well, i hope it’s easier on Red Bubble, then, as it has turned out to be a pain in the rear for me! lol Anyway … I intend to clean these babies up, because scanning can do awful things to an image; maybe I’ll add to them, color them in different ways, etc. Haven’t fully decided yet, except that I did do a more colored in version of Shelba already. Not sure if it’s done yet or no. Hope you enjoy! Hey everyone, This past week has been hell on my best friend/sister. She has had a rocky relationship with her now ex-fiance since they got together 2 years ago. He was very abusive, caused her to miscarry her first child, even abusing her while pregnant with her daughter, Jossalynn. She’s caught him in numerous lies, recently caught him with a 16 year old girl, then beat the shit out of her when she caught them. Needless to say, she finally put a civil protection order on him and he’s on house arrest. Here is where the charity thing comes into play: He convinced her to sell her car (which was paid off) to use the money for a downpayment on a van for her to drive. He got the van in his name. Now she is without a car. She can’t get a decent job (shes been a stay at home mommy for the past 9 months or so) without a car and cant pay for a car without a better job. (she works at the mall a few days a week but they cant give her anymore hours right now) Anyhoos, a few friends and I are trying to scrape together some extra funds to get her a cheap car until she can get on her feet. All my earnings from RedBubble will be going to the fund for Sarah a car. If anyone has ever wanted to purchase anything from my gallery, now would be a great time to do it. ALL profits will be going to her car so rest assured that not only will you get a great tee or print but you will be helping out a wonderful person who has always been there for everyone else. Also, if anyone has any fund raising ideas, please please please let me know. Im going to contact some local churches and businesses tomorrow to see if they will let me do a bake sale on their properties. Thanks for taking the time to read this. / Shannon

For the record, my hormones were well in check when she said this to me, so I was being a smart-alec about it. Her: Oh, God. Mom! Control your hormones. Me: No! I spent far too much of my life controlling my hormones, including pretty much the entire time I was married,and the majority of my teenage years (no matter what anyone ever says to the contrary), and etc. So, no, I just shall not. I demand my hormones be immediately married off to a crippled weirdo and be allowed to roam freely over his clown tattoos. Thank you! I have had a little spell from my artwork. Over the past couple of weeks or so I have been doing some quick expressive work, which I have enjoyed very much this morning and last night I started a signature ‘Lisadee’ piece that started out so basic. It will take some time to complete and I intend to do it in the ‘Taller Bigger Brighter’ feel or like ‘Lovely Lucia’. There has also been an absence of text for my work for quite a while which people always said was as important as the illustration, this new one has some text..at times drawing these little figures – I find it quite emotive, when I wrote the few lines of text there was a small wave of emotion, perhaps that is why I create these. Also I am very excited to be sharing a new type of art work I am currently developing…stay tuned. You can see it at my up coming installation at Bundoora Homestead as of December 17th 2009.
