Life basically
I’m sure every one with children understands these moments quite well… Here is a photo taken of my oldest son..
Here is another image taken today. To me, converse sneakers are the epitome of youth and they never seem to go out of fashion.. My parents wore them, I wore them and now my sons and daughter are already wearing them (by the way.. these were my pair of ‘connies’ which now my son is wearing). I just liked the way they portray youth and although each generation think they are better than the last; I think fundamentally they always stay the same.
Self Portrait. Everyones in on the joke but me. Graphite Pencil on paper (c) REO 2007
Chelsea, Manhattan, NYC 2008 Copyright Third Place Winner / Sad Man Challenge “Dear Mr. President” / by Pink Dear Mr. President, / Come take a walk with me. / Let’s pretend we’re just two people and / You’re not better than me. / I’d like to ask you some questions if we can speak honestly. What do you feel when you see all the homeless on the street? / Who do you pray for at night before you go to sleep? / What do you feel when you look in the mirror? / Are you proud? How do you sleep while the rest of us cry? / How do you dream when a mother has no chance to say goodbye? / How do you walk with your head held high? / Can you even look me in the eye / And tell me why? Dear Mr. President, / Were you a lonely boy? / Are you a lonely boy? / Are you a lonely boy? / How can you say / No child is left behind? / We’re not dumb and we’re not blind. / They’re all sitting in your cells / While you pave the road to hell. What kind of father would take his own daughter’s rights away? / And what kind of father might hate his own daughter if she were gay? / I can only imagine what the first lady has to say / You’ve come a long way from whiskey and cocaine. How do you sleep while the rest of us cry? / How do you dream when a mother has no chance to say goodbye? / How do you walk with your head held high? / Can you even look me in the eye? Let me tell you ‘bout hard work / Minimum wage with a baby on the way / Let me tell you ‘bout hard work / Rebuilding your house after the bombs took them away / Let me tell you ‘bout hard work / Building a bed out of a cardboard box / Let me tell you ‘bout hard work / Hard work / Hard work / You don’t know nothing ‘bout hard work / Hard work / Hard work / Oh How do you sleep at night? / How do you walk with your head held high? / Dear Mr. President, / You’d never take a walk with me. / Would you?
Emotive piece of art drawn in Graphite Pencil…L K Southward- Iconic Art UK Nominated for ‘Pay it Forward’ by Andy Mueller IPA “I have so many favorite works of art on the bubble that it is tough to narrow it down to just one. But every time I see this one, I know it is the one piece that triggers the most emotion out of me. So, I’d love to submit my Pay It Forward to a wonderful British Artist L K Southward and her graphite pencil drawing called “This is your son”. Every time I see this drawing, I have tears welling up in my eyes. It is such a strong piece of work, and she clearly is a very talented artist.” Featured in the group THE EEG on 9th May 2009 Featured in the War – lest we forget group for the 141st Memorial Day (1868-2009) Featured in the Pencil Drawing group on 13th September 2009 Original drawing sold on 29th April 2009
This is one of the photos, part of a series, that I took when I applied for art school earlier this year. It’s a self-portrait in a series about self-image – not having it, and finding it again later. That it’s more important how you feel on the inside.

I saw Homer Simpson at the tanning salon I go to in NYC’s East Village. Someone should’ve told him he needed to remove his clothes first! Can you believe that? Click once on this image to enlarge. / / / /

…..birds look like they’ve got it all figured out. This is just my emotions in pixels: art born of selfishness, I guess. Or maybe self-control? I won’t know until this day is over and dreams come again. Corel Painter Essentials 4. Cross-posted from Robbegami
