RedBubble is an awesome community of people from around the world. The collective goodwill that I see every day on RedBubble fills me with hope for humanity. And I think it’s important that we strive to recognize those folks who really make this community the supportive and fun place it is. To this end Jo is running an awards event over here to help identify the most helpful bubbler. So I encourage you to check out the nominees (below) and cast your vote. Speaking of awards, RedBubble is proud to have received two “Cool Company” awards last night. The Cool Company awards are run by Anthill Magazine / to ‘celebrate organisations that are doing things differently or defying convention to bring about positive change’. We love the guys at Anthill and what they stand for (supporting innovation, entrepreneurship and people having a go) so it was a great honour to receive an ‘X-factor’ and ‘Internet’ award last night – on behalf of the 84,515 members of RedBubble. The X-Factor Award will be awarded to the company that demonstrates extraordinary levels of innovative, entrepreneurial and creative flair. The winner of this particularly subjective award will be assessed against the vision, strategy and execution of its exceptionally cool business product and/or service. Judges will apply their own beliefs and attitudes toward the concept of ‘cool’ when evaluating the X-Factor. Online Business Award: The internet has forced modern companies to re-think established business functions, from marketing and distribution to human resources and project management. This award was developed to recognise Australian businesses that are harnessing online models to achieve positive commercial outcomes. Judges will consider the novelty and/or innovative nature of the business model in the Australian marketplace.

I met Eden about 15 years ago at Uni and we lost contact for a long time, but found each other again over the internet and, like all good friends, I feel like I saw her yesterday!
