‘Asia Series’ card by Karin Taylor A more serious piece this time. A painting inspired by the art form of the Geisha. Her discipline and strength I admire. I have used ink, acrylic, charcoal and pastels to create Geisha Girl. The original painting is no longer available, but so glad she can come to you in the form of a greeting card. I hope you like her :D

Image by photographer Glennis Siverson, www.glennisphotos.com. Detail from the night performance named the Folk Song Festival of Liu Sanjie, which is presented outdoors in the Shanshui Theatre near Yangshuo, China. It’s a performance like you’ve never experienced, staged along the Lijiang River and 12 Peaks. Breathtakingly beautiful show. This photograph was not enhanced – shot with 300 mm lens length.

Ian Rilen was a legendary Sydney rock and roller and a member of bands such as Rose Tattoo, X and Sardine V. He died earlier this year and is much missed for his wild and wonderful ways. I found this candid back stage shot of him and his then wife Stephanie preparing to go onstage at the Trade Union Club in Sydney’s Surry Hills way way back in the early 80’s. They were in Sardine V at that time and when I look at this shot now the eighties rush back. Oh my misspent youth. :) So Vale Ian Rilen, I so hope things are rocking were ever you are. This shot is for you.
