This is a photograph of a scene that I set up as part of a “video” I’m making for part of my 2009 gradshow work. i made the little fellows featured in the image = )

The majority of these images were created for a series of set designs for a dance performance. The story is of a demendted toymaker who creates distorted and twisted toys in his toy/doll workshop in period times. Some of the toys/dolls were eery and darkish but were finally rescued and brought into the ‘light streetscapes’ of ‘happy’ colours. Each work is 2.5m X 2m on canvas using acrylic. Everyone lived happily ever after.

I’ll be doing a poetry feature / at the Dan O’Connell Hotel, / 225 Canning St / Carlton VIC 3053. / Saturday 5th December 2009 / 2am until 5pm, costs nothing. Poetry that isn’t posted on the net or published any where yet. Stuff that’s been written in the past year as well as some old favorites.Great entertainment. Good comic value and some strong rhythmic stuff in there too. If you’re a poet you can also put your name down to read as well. The Dan is the best poetry venue in Melbourne. It’s there every Saturday without fail and there’s quite often a number of poet celebrities there. So please come along. Love to see you there.
