From the Peré Lachaise Cemetery in Paris, I found this mourning statue such a moving and sombre tribute to those who have passed on. This statue was on one side of a family crypt door, with another statue on the other side. You can see the full crypt image here. Without trying to sound morbid, I have great admiration for the work that went in to so many of the crypts there.
Cusco 2006 !
Its a HDR of a house in the middle of beijing. The writing on the side says for rent. (i think)
As long as I can remember, I have been fascinated by the consept of the Samurai warrior. / Manga has also had some influence on this picture, even though I was hardly ever exposed to it through my childhood. / But the last ten years, as I have been working only with graphics, and with perfecting my drawing skills. / And it is through this work that I have been exposed to Manga a lot, and I think it has influenced me quit a bit, and it shines through especially in my character design. / If you like this picture, you might enjoy this one as well Ore maybe this one… Enjoy and have a good time :-)
Cusco, Perú !!! / This is one of the first shot I took in Cusco this year !!! / I had just arrived and I was feeling a bit strange and not really in the mood to take pictures of people.. I was maybe thinking about life a bit too much ! / But when she passed by I said something funny to her and pressed the bottom !! / I´m glad i did !
These ruins are situated outside the city of Chincha, a medium-sized city near Pisco, in Peru. / / This photograph was taken approximately 3 1/2 months after the August 15 2007 earthquake that devastated this part of the Peru. / / Artist proceeds from internet sales of cards and prints of this images will be donated to: / / Hands On Disaster Response / ... a volunteer-driven, non-profit organisation, dedicated to timely disaster response and relief. They strive to provide hands-on relief to survivors of natural disasters with maximum speed and minimum bureaucracy. Their focus is on applying volunteer resources and expertise to disaster-affected communities around the world. This image was taken while the artist was working on location with them in Pisco, Paracas and Ica in the aftermath of the August 2007 Earthquake. This apartment building awaits demolition more than three months after an earthquake devastated Peru’s coastal city of Pisco on 15 August 2007. Dust still hangs in the air, giving an eery glow to the streets as daylight fades, a legacy of more 100,000 buildings that were destroyed or seriously damaged in the two minutes when the earth literally shook. Carlos, the taxi driver whose car can be seen in the base of this image went out of his way to show us this building. The house where he lived with his young son, a few miles from this spot, was one of the many that no longer stands. The halo around the lamp is an effect of the dust in atmosphere (and not a digital manipulation as some might think). Its visibility is enhanced by the slow shutter speed necessary to capture such an image as the sun had long since disappeared below the horizon. The building is truly leaning, a result of the earthquake that destroyed so much of this city, including the lives of four individuals who were in the lower floor (now destroyed) of this apartment building when the earth started to shake. All artists proceeds from sales of RedBubble prints from this image will be used to assist those, like Carlos, who have lost their homes to rebuild. / This image was recently selected for exhibition in Melbourne’s Brunswick Street Gallery. It is also included in the America del Sur – 2009 Calendar, available here. / /
A BMX rider passes a church building next to the site of Pisco’s San Clemente Cathedral in December 2007, three and a half months after the earthquake that destroyed more than 90 per cent of the city’s buildings, including the cathedral, leaving over 100,000 people homeless. / / / / 50 per cent of the artists proceeds from sales of this image on RedBubble will be donated to Hands On Disaster Response This organisation provides assistance in disaster zones during the initial stages of the emergency. HODR volunteers arrived in Pisco shortly after the earthquake and were there, helping the people of Pisco, Ica, Chincha, Paracas and Cañete til January 2008.

Lately I have been trying out another inking technique and I have tried to simplify my designs down to the absolute necessary. / This is my third attempt at this way of going about it, and I must say myself that I am a lot more satisfied with this design than earlier character designs I did before I started to simplify things. / It is obvious that the old mantra about minimizing everything down to a minimum is something to pay close attention to. / Simplicity is the word ladies and gangsters… POS
Probably one of the most photographed places on the planet, but at least I struck lucky and managed to get 5 of the 11 resident llamas to stay put while I got some shots. Machu Picchu, Peru.

This is the motive I have made for a band I am doing the CD cover and all the rest of what ever they need for marketing (blog, posters, tickets and so on) for. / The bands name is Tassili (the on who walks) and they do the most exciting music I’ve heard since I was made aware of our very own muskularteeth / The sort of music they play has been called “Sahara Blues” (cool he?) in the media the last year ore so (here in Norway anyway). For those of you having problems with such things, THEY ARE NOT MUSLIMS. but atheists (I think) from Morocco and Norway. / You see if they were in any way religious (ore as I see it not intelligent, open minded, including and learning/spiritually eveolving humans) I wouldn’t work for them….simple as that. / Christians and muslims, budists and sun worshipers is to me all the same. It has no place in a modern society built upon science, logic and reason. / I guess in that way I am a bigot. / I also never did any gigs ore briefs for ANY political unit what so ever. Never as a musician ore as a graphics artist and Illustrator. / I am also contemplating giving up contributing to the marketing efforts of various companies, cos I believe it is bad and very wrong what most of them do, and that goes for me to as long as I let them use my skills to peddle shit we didn’t know we needed til they convinced us it is so. This in turn keep us in debt and stuck in some shit job working for the man and our morgage. / Art is art, and must not prostitute itself. Neither for religion nor politics. / Cos then we are lost. Without a provoking art scene, humanity is lost….believe me if you must believe something. I believe in art, freedome and the right to provoke at any time and place….also religions witch I DON’T consider holy…(goes for all of them). POS / /

The first form of perfume was incense. Incense was first discovered by the Mesopotamians about 4,000 years ago. Ancient cultures burned many kinds of resins, bums and woods at their religious ceremonies. They often soaked the fragrant woods and resins in water and oil, and rubbed their bodies with the liquid. They also embalmed the dead with these perfumes.> Early Europeans used many different containers to store their perfumes.> They used glass, gold, silver, porcelain, gems, pearls, semi-precious stones and various shells. Perfume was commonly used in the form of incense.> Some incense burners consisted of a container held from chains. It was swung like a pendulum during Mass in the Christian Church. There were also stationary incense burners used in Churches.> Some perfume containers were designed to be worn. Semi-precious stones held perfumes and were pinned to clothing. Silver earrings were worn that contained perfume soaked fabric inside them.> Many containers were designed to be hung around the neck, from a belt, or from a finger ring.> Perfume bottles were always handcrafted and designed by artists, jewelers and goldsmiths. Many bottles were designed to be worn, or displayed on a table.> Nefertiti, an Egyptian beauty from an earlier dynasty, surrounded herself with perfume: containers with myrrh, flacons filled with sweet oils, and handsomely ornamented jars of unguents.> Things have certainly changed in our world of perfume bottles since this time in history wouldn’t you agree ladies.. far less decadence …
