  • What time is it really? Which way are we going? Time looms over us all, hanging right in front of our heads…. / Was completed in watercolor and gouache media on Arches cold-press 180lb. paper, circa 2007.

  • To me, this photo symbolizes the beautiful journey of a father and son through life.. Silhouettes are my favorite thing to capture, there is so much emotion without even seeing facial expressions.

  • Thrilled at being asked to take some pictures for my friends who are expecting their fist child, I jumped at the chance and suggested something a little different to the shoot they may have been thinking of having at home… / Shot out in the desert, west of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on an overcast and windy day… work in post processing, sat in my warm house on an even more overcast and windy day… winters here! / Read my journal for a description of the day… crowds and all!

  • Sales of this Design? – 4 sales so far :) / ‘Beach Series’ card by Karin Taylor ‘I saw the angel in the marble and I carved until I set him free.” – Michelangelo Ocean Angel is a mixed media production (ink, charcoal, pastel, acrylics) on canvas textured paper. Ocean Angel is a beautiful mer-angel, a mythical creature from my own imagination….unlike the mermaids who are generally mischievous in folklore, Ocean Angel tends to care :D

  • / ‘Beach Series’ card by Karin Taylor / a mixed media production on canvas textured paper / ink pastel acrylic charcoal Beach Betty is a cutesy retro style blonde beach chic from the past, daring to dress in her lingerie-like one-piece with exceptionally large thunder thighs, and not giving a hoot what anyone thinks…......behind her the surf in pumpin!!!

  • Exotic Bloom is another from the Beach Series by Karin Taylor / You can see the canvas textured paper showing through here, I used mixed media here, my usual inks, chalk pastel, acrylic and charcoal. / The original painting sold at The Sheoak Shack Gallery Cafe at Fingal some time ago…it’s a miniature painting to give you some idea of scale :) /

  • Here is the approaching storm and my hubby, my 3 babies and me (behind the camera) trying to get away from it! This is a photo that was taken nearly 2 years ago (old point-and-shoot camera), I though I lost it (or deleted it) but found it out of last night and had to share!

  • Sales of this Design? – 2 sales so far :) / / Wintersun by Karin Taylor / Mixed Media on canvas textured paper / Ink Pastel Acrylic Charcoal / Beach Series I loved creating this piece, the design aspects are colour are strong, and it is reminiscent of a design on a dress that my mother made for me, actually we had mother and daughter dresses in the same material and wore them out on special occasions….

  • Long Beach, Vancouver Island, British Columbia. Canada / March, 2008 I put down my Point and Shoot… time to play with a real camera! This is actually my second upload from my new camera… my new toy… my new partner in crime! I’ve been having a lot of fun with it and my new lens’, especially my wide angle! Of course with a new DSLR there is a lot of trial and error and a tonne of mistakes, but with a lot of great guidance I’m getting into the groove… Taken the same day as Beauty in Everything this was how the day panned out… Back for breakfast from our disatrous mornings shoot, sand blown out of my lens and a couple hours kip in the bag Claire and I braved the weather and headed out once again… Just outside of Tofino, on Vancouver Island we came across “Long Beach”... as we had driven up alongside the beach all that we could see between the trees was a starck white.. was it snow, was it ice? It wasn’t untill we drove up to the beach that we saw the full force of the Pacific Ocean crashing up along the shore.. nothing from here until Asia! The beach was certainly a spectacle to behold and with breaks in the weather we cracked on with capturing the drama. Viewed large you might just catch a glimpse of one or two other brave souls out for an afternoon stroll and then you might get a sense of the scale of all this!
