These flowers are a peony. I just had to paint them because of their colour. They are known in Japan to symbolize handfuls of cash. I thought that may be an auspicious thing to hang on one’s wall. The original oil on canvas is for sale on my website www.carrysmith.com. It measures 140cm x 107cm and is double framed with a cream slip on the inside and a warm silver guilded frame on the outside.
THIS IS AN OIL I STILL HAVE IN MY PERSONAL COLLECTION. PEONIES ARE MY FAVORITE FLOWER BUT THEY LAST SUCH A SHORT TIME I WANTED TO PRESERVE THEM FOREVER IN MY PAINTING. THANK YOU FOR LOOKING
