METRIC-NATURE SERIES…026 Another lovely yellow rose in the series. The depth is fantastic!
A memorial in the Washington National Cathedral, Washington, DC, USA. The cross is made from stone taken fom the damaged Pentagon Building after “9/11”. I admit the photograph isn’t great. I was trying to keep up with the tour guide. Hopefully I can go back some time and take better photos without rushing.
Soccer ball and athletic shoe on the playing field.
“War is old men talking and young men dying” Odysseus, Troy [the movie] Even if you didn’t like the movie; that’s a quote worth remembering. The t-shirt you see here has taken that quote; mixed it up with Danny’s theme to get: 1. A mushroom cloud of the nuclear variety. 2. The Pentagon, where the old men talk. 3. An F-117 Stealth Bomber, always out of range. These all combine to make a skull [which I told Lucan I’d never use on a t-shirt … but now I have … sort of]. If you think it doesn’t need the text, comment or send me a bubblemail, I have a version waiting in the wings without it.
I wanted to create something akin to Frank Miller’s work after seeing “Sin City,” so I put this together
as is.

Vinca major (Large Periwinkle or Greater Periwinkle) is commonly grown in temperate gardens for its evergreen foliage, spring flowers, and vining habit. Several cultivars are available, with white to dark violet flowers and variegated foliage. The flowers are produced from early spring to autumn, violet-purple, 3-5 cm diameter, with a five-lobed corolla.
The title pretty much covers it all. This was a really odd result when I was making spirographs the other day. I decided to save it (what with my obsession with spirals). I didn’t want to do too much editing, so I just added a background, enhanced the colors a little, and tried to increase the resolution.
The third in a series of a study on whirls. / A spiral and a whirl differ in that a whirl is a shape rotated and resized. / A spiral is one long curve while a whirl is the same repeated shape inside of itself.

I love the little flowers and petals around the edges, they look so 3D and Shakespearian! Did I just make that word up? / featured in the ‘Gold Coast’ group 12-08-2009

This is one of the many qulits hand made by quilters across the United States of America. “Quils of Valor” goat was to give a quilt to any injured serviceman in the course of his duty. This goas has not spread to giving a quilt to any U.S. serviceman who are returning from war.. My husband Bob was presented with his very own gorgeous red, whilte and blue quilt for his 3 tours in View Nam. I have never seen him so emotionally touched in the 30 some years we have been together. It actually brought tears to his eyes and that is not at all common for Bob. There is a “Quilt of Valor” quilt hanging in the United States Pentagon and the ladies have received a Congressional Award for their humanitarian efforts for our service men. The following posts are all from the Quilts of Valor ladies of Valley Springs California. God Bless them All! All proceeds wiil be sent directly to them
