For some time now I’ve been besotted by Mel Brackstone’s SS Dicky images. She generously shares much information about how she gets such remarkable images, like this for example / I finally bought some NDgrad filters and this and my next image are my first attempts to use them to capture the movement of the ocean, I have much to learn. Thanks for the inspiration and advice Mel. Canon 450D ISO100 F5.6 6/10s f18mm (Cokin 121s ND Grad)

Thanks for the inspiration and advice Mel. I processed this using a script-fu plug-in for Gimp which attempts to mimic the Fuji Velvia slide film that I used to love so much in the days before digital. Once again the sunrise was disappointing. Not wanting to waste the 5:30 AM start, I tried to find a good composition using these rocks and the headland, for when I get some ND filters and the surf gets up. I welcome any comments and constructive criticism. Turrimetta Beach NSW 28Jan 09 0635 DST Canon 450D ISO100 F25 1/3s f28mm

View large to see is what happens when you take a photo of a waterfall in near dark conditions and do HDR processing when you don’t know what you’re doing. seems the camera can see into another world, right through rocks – Weird. Canon 450D ISO100 F4 4s 28mm

The Penfold Man was originally an advertising figure to promote the Penfold brand from Birmingham, England. Now an extremely rare, valuable and highly collectable piece of golfing memorabilia.
Artist: John Callisto / Location: Penfolds Magill Estate, Magill, South Australia / Photographer’s Website About the Photograph: With no transport available, Colonel Light and his team walked from Adelaide to discover the Adelaide Hills. He might just have walked through this location where, approximately 5 years after his passing, Dr Christopher Rawson and Mary Penfold settled, to establish their first home and vineyards. About the Photographer: On returning from an overseas trip at the age of sixteen, I took my rolls of film along to the local lab for development and was flattered when commended by the lab owner on my “eye for a photo” My original “point & shoot” pocket camera soon made way for my very first SLR and I was “bitten by the bug” as an amateur photographer. With thousands of photos over the next 20 years, and with nowhere to show them, I joined the Adelaide Camera Club, where I am not only able to compete and have my work judged, but also continue to re-hone and challenge my passion for this great art. I have learnt to look at and appreciate light in a whole new way through my lens, and I am honored to share these images of Adelaide and surrounds with you, in my first ever contribution to a public exhibit, “Visions of Light”.
I couldn’t not respond to you / But you touched me with your longing / And left me little doubt / Let me be your bread
Once again, I’m thankful to the writers of redbubble who feed my creative appetite, I like to think that to some extent we feed each other.

This was something to tide me over until J.K Rowlings realises she can only write Harry Potter books and has to do another series. / then my son pointed out with a thick slab of sarcasm that this was “fan fiction” / I then decided that I really didn’t like the series that much. / But I kept the familiar characters so I didn’t have to go into great long boring character development to tell the start of an on going story. Actually that’s all bullshit, I just wanted to put the “Rain Man” quip in a story. No gasmasks were hurt in the writing of this story.

I wrote this many years ago for a girlfriend, it didn’t achieve the desired result however we are still good friends.
Now and then we’re bound to fall / But only once, on love’s first try / We start with a slate that’s bare.
