When Judah cleans fish the Pelicans get the remains, but they gotta move in fast before the others get there first! Taken near Pelican Island Sebastian, FL, along Indian river drive, where every October through March, the White Pelicans from as far as Vancouver, Canada arrive here for the winter.

I found this Pelican floating around Budgewoi Lake in New South Wales looking for fish. Every now and then it would swim up to the boat ramp wall and just sit and wait for the fishermen to throw bait fish for it to eat.

l heard that they took a close look at the Pelican when they modelled the Jumbo Jet ,l don’t know whether it is true or not but comparing the two it is feasable !! A pelican takes flight , Westernport Bay Hastings Victoria Australia. The quality of this shot was’nt as good as l had hoped for as l realised l had two CP filters and a ND4 filter on the lens,l am surprised there was any light left at all ,but thought l would share it anyway as l don’t have many shots of birds on the move that are reasonably clear !! / / As is straight from the camera Canon 450D / 55/250mm Canon EFS lens / Shutter 1/660 s / F/4 / ISO800 / Manual W/B / FL 55mm
