My sister and I took the ferry over to Lummi Island while I was visiting her in Washington and we went to this awesome beach. The rocks here were pretty swell! Some of the better skipping stones I’ve ever come across. This is probably my favorite shot from the day, enjoy. Blog / Email Me / Galleries

Not sure if I like this image, it lacks a lot of the qualities that my other seascapes have like drama and rapid water movement, feels out of place with my other work, yet there is something that fascinates me about the simplicity of the image and the purity of the half light, the sun was just about to set and the peach colour to the horizon was so pure, another ten mins and this would be high lighter pink. let me know what you think. Shot in the North bay of Kaikoura near Fyffes House. Shot on a Nikon D700 with 17-35mm lens, with Cokin ND2 grad filter.

While shooting a group of migratory seaducks with the sun at my back, I turned around to see how much time I had left before the sun went below the horizon, and I immediately saw this.
