He’s a tame chipmunk (a tiny member of the squirrel family) who comes to our doorstep on a daily basis for handouts of peanuts and hazelnuts. He and some of his buddies will take nuts from our hands and will crawl on us to look for nuts. MMMMMM! Loads of peanut butter and a yummy Hershey’s Bar (in case you couldn’t tell :)) Taken w/Nikon D80
It’s that time of year again when the squirrels are so active gathering up a store of food to see them through the Winter. I’ve had as many as six on one occasion this week in my garden enjoying the peanuts I’ve been putting out daily and two kilograms of peanuts have soon disappeared. Fortunately the odd one stopped long enough for me to get a couple of photos of them

Another pesky little Blue Tit in my tree this morning. Nobody’s going to prise that nut away from his claws! ;o) Canon EOS 50D with Canon EF 400mm L f/5.6 hand held
Saw this cute little squirrel in front of my neighbors house and brought him some of my parrots peanuts. He was more than happy to let me take pics as long as I had the peanuts for pay. As Is / Nikon D80 / Lens 50-200mm
[Taken in natural light and straight from the camera] This photo was taken just before Lillian was beaten by an older boy who used her as a source of income. I was on the way to Tunga/Zuga Village, a Remote village in Kebbe State, Nigeria, and we stopped to re-fuel our off road vehicles. One of our team, Pastor Joshua, our medical officer, got into conversation with with this young girl as she came to our vehicle and asked us to buy peanuts. My Spirit was drawn to her and I asked her if she ever went to school. She said No. We noticed an older boy who was lurking behind a wall, who was shouting and calling her name. I did not know what he was saying, but Pastor Joshua did as he is a native Nigerian. She became afraid and left us and went back to him. He began to push her and punch and kick her. She dropped her tray and run back to us. Sister Saidi, our mission Co-ordinator, comforted the girl, while our driver caught the older boy and beat him. (The driver was very angry. We could not stop him.) The girl explained she was raped and beaten by the boy and by truck drivers. She said she had nowhere to live or stay except with him. We took her with us and left her with Pastor Joshua’s aunt, who lived in a village that we would pass on our way to Tunga/Zuga village. A year later now and she is well cared for and loved by her new family. We contribute towards her keep. Her name is Lillian. I thank God for arranging our meeting with Lillian. These verses seem to be written just for Lillian’s new family: Mark 9:35 * And he sat down, and called the twelve, and saith unto them, If any man desire to be first, the same shall be last of all, and servant of all. / 36 And he took a child, and set him in the midst of them: and when he had taken him in his arms, he said unto them, / 37 Whosoever shall receive one of such children in my name, receiveth me: and whosoever shall receive me, receiveth not me, but him that sent me.
