An Olive branch of peace can become a weapon to beat someone with in the wrong hands or situation. Peacekeepers carrying guns is somewhat hypocritical in my books. At least call a spade a spade. detail: /

views: 1942 / favs: 54 My origami calendar I used tweezers to create the last few folds. The paper I folded with was about 15×15mm big. Basically I present the creator and the creation where the crane is framed by my fingers forming a circle. We can only understand size, fragility and significance when we compare two things. When we think, for example, how big the world is, we’re like tiny little specks of sand, or even atoms, to the eyes of a God holding the earth in his palm. / / For a better idea of scale: / / / I did not make this crane and take the picture with the description in my mind; but created it by instinct. It wasn’t easy drawing out my words initially. However many viewers have left very inspiring comments about my work, and for that I am grateful. My contribution for the Agent Provocateur Challenge. / The year: 2258 / This design is a symbol of the post apocalyptic era. Purpose driven war has given way to war for the sake of war. The land’s have suffered irrevocable trauma and humankind is on the brink of extinction. Man’s only hope is seek solitude in the only region left unspoiled by the Great War, the depths of the Sea. Underwater colonization could act as savior to the Human race. My design is a play on the “Dove and the Olive Branch.” The dove holding the Olive branch symbolizes hope when all hope was lost, a peace in the midst of turmoil. My design is a Guppy (fish) holding a strand of Kelp. The fish holding a strand of kelp symbolizes the hope for mankind that waits for him beneath the waters, a new frontier untouched by war.

Each square in the grid paper is 5×5mm; and to be exact, there were 2028 full squares in the paper When I was in grade 5 our teacher read “Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes” to our class. Sadako Sasaki was infected with leukemia. She spent her days folding cranes and making wishes upon them; wishing for her health and for a more peaceful world (the quote above is my writing inspired by the story of the thousand paper cranes). This concept was originally created in 2008, and photographed without a tripod. But now I have a tripod and decided to re-shoot this again and re-uploaded it on September 6, 2009. “Clouds on the Water, Fire Near the Sky” / Purchase a Mouse Pad of this image I happened onto this gorgeous sunrise over the White River at a time when the water was at its lowest. I was delighted to catch the calm surface for reflections, as the low rising sun was casting its first orange glow over the autumn colors.

Fell in deep like with Jake the Clydesdale on a visit to a working farm. He got bored after the carrots ran dry and wandered off in disgust. So, here he is, set free on a beach & processed with love. A tribute to all the pretty horses and the peace they breathe into our battered souls.
