Two goats enjoying some much needed rest after a hectic day at the fair! / So peaceful.
Cold wintry morning down on the farm.
taken outside of West Montrose, ON. I often roam the backroads of Mennonite country looking for scenes just like this. Barn cats are quite plentiful. The average farm may have 15-20 in plain view, and likely more hiding.
Part of a series of images taken in Samburu, Kenya in 2007. Black and white digital image of the Owasi River in the central lowlands.
Many of the roads in this area were named for the families that lived on them and owned farms. This small cemetery is named after the family Munsell along with the road which the cemetery is on.
This is an area of our friends property where his cattle cross the creek to get to the other side of the paddock. It is a very peaceful area where wildlife is always around. Image taken at Wollar, Central tablelands, NSW.
Fog slowly lifts from the coves floor. Dawn has awakened all of nature to a new day. The coolness of night still lingers. The dew clings to all it has touched for it knows its time has come to leave. In a few hours Cades Cove will be bathed with the warmth of a new day………Imaged made from 4 shots stitched in CS3.This also is my 1st attempt at a stitched panoramic……taken in Cades Cove,GSMNP….shot a couple weeks ago while shooting with Sherri and Ronnie Hamilton
Matilda Shields Gregory’s husband walked out on her and a small son. Her brothers threw together the resemblance of a cabin that sits in the back. This is where she was living when she met Henry Whitehead. It wasn’t long till romance was in the air. It was handed down thru the families Henry promised to build her the best cabin in Cades Cove, and well he did. This is thought to be one of two sawn log homes in the Smokies. It is the only one standing today….located in Cades Cove, Great Smoky Mountain N.P…..shot a couple weeks ago while shooting with Sherri and Ronnie Hamilton
Sit and enjoy the beginning of new day, as the mist slowly rises with the warming sun. Take in all that you see, let your thoughts be lost in contemplation of all that is around you. Let the softness of your misty view calm your soul. See the deer as they begin their day. Are they getting enough to eat. Will they have to run from danger today, or can they lay beside the cool stream until time to feed again. Wonder whose barn that once was. Did they struggle to make ends meet. What wonderful experiences did they enjoy here. Why did they just leave a few trees in the fence row. Will the sun burst thru the veil of mist suddenly or slowly filter through. What kind of bird did you just here. Start the day with a fresh mind that has been emptied of self and full of all around you…….image taken along Cades Cove Loop Road, Great Smoky Mountain N.P…the simaler images below were taken the month before..the barn barely visible it the barn in my This Old Barn
Serene farm pond ablaze with the colors of fall and a blue rowboat resting on the shore. The last rays of sunlight filter through the trees highlighting the autumn colors casting a dream-like sense of serenity. Prints also available.
This is the home of the pastor of the Church. The Church is located about where I was standing when I took the shot. It is in west central Texas and feels like yesteryear; thus the black and white medium.
