A Buddhist monk with a lotus flower at a Monastery in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. I spent the last 10 days mountain biking around Cambodia. We had a rest day in Phnom Penh and I asked my tuk-tuk driver, Mr Hen, to show me the real side of the city. It was wonderful. I didn’t see a western tourist all day! The Monastery was our first stop. Luckily it happened to be a Buddhist holy day and there was a lot of activity. This monk was very kind and genuinely interested in my life. He blessed me before I left.
Salam in arabic means peace... And this is what we need… It is also a lamb lying on its back, licking its front leg............... ;)
Shalom (שָׁלוֹם) is a Hebrew word meaning peace, Nothing missing, Nothing broken, wellbeing, and complete, and used to mean hello, and goodbye. As it does in English, it can refer to either peace between two entities (especially between man and God or between two countries), or to the well-being, welfare or safety of an individual or a group of individuals. It is also used as a greeting to either say hello or farewell, and is found in many other expressions and names. Its equivalent cognate in Arabic is Salam, Shlomo (ܫܠܡܐ) in Syriac-Assyrian and sälam in Ethiopian Semitic languages from the Hebrew root shin-lamed-mem (ש.ל.ם).

I know some of you may have seen this before… I’m not claiming to have created the idea… but I do like it, and wanted it on a shirt. I looked around on here, didn’t find one like this yet, so I thought I’d put one up. This shirt, as the title suggests, says “Coexist” using various religious and other symbols, including the male and female symbol. The meaning behind it all is to suggest that we simply all get along, and don’t let our differences get between us.
The Tian Tan Buddha appears serene and dignified. His right hand is raised, representing the removal of affliction. His left hand rests on his lap in a gesture of giving (dhana). The Buddha faces north which is unique among the great Buddha statues. (All others face South.) I’m not a very religious person, but I need to know where my religious background stands in my family. This place was definitely the eye opener. How do they even carry all the 250 tonne bronze to make a 34 metre high statue up there?! A remarkable achievement. The term Allāh is most likely derived from a contraction of the Arabic article al- and ʾilāh “deity, god” to al-lāh meaning “the [sole] deity, God” (ho theos monos). Another theory traces the etymology of the word to the Aramaic Alāhā. Cognates of the name “Allāh” exist in other Semitic languages, including Hebrew and Aramaic. The corresponding Aramaic form is אֱלָהָא ˀĔlāhā in Biblical Aramaic and ܐܰܠܳܗܳܐ ˀAlâhâ or ˀĀlōho in Syriac. The term Allah is always used in the singular form; the plural form of the term does not exist in the Arabic language. The contraction of al- and ʾilāh in forming the term Allāh (“the deity” in the masculine form) parallels the contraction of al- and ʾilāha in forming the term al-Lāt (“the deity” in the feminine form)

This to me gives this sacred place the feel I was looking for. It is in northwestern New Mexico in the Four Corners area where New Mexico, Colorado, Arizona and Utah all meet and is a very sacred place to the Navajo people.
