  • I shot upwards into the sky, / with my magic IR eye, / what I saw I give to you, / this dreamy falsely coloured view.

  • Cold winter landscape

  • © copyright 2006 All Rights Reserved / You may not use, replicate, manipulate, redistribute, or modify this image without my express consent. Taken at Anderson Ranch Reservoir, although the sun was not where it seems to be, this really was an illusion. I had to get out and catch this shot. I love this lake and this place. When we lived here my camera was with me at all times, even when I went down for groceries, you never knew what you might see on the way down or back up. I love it here and it will always be home for me in my heart. Exposure time 1/160 sec., / F-Stop F/4.0, Aperture Value F/2.0, ISO 64.0. Canon EOS, Rebel XT, Lens 18-55 mm.

  • This is the little foot bridge around the forest I frequent with River. It was shot after the first snow this winter. Yesterday someone wanted to purchase this piece at a local gallery but she wanted me to give her more choices of framing and I finally came up with this version and she (along with her children) love it as her 12-year-old called it “The Magic Ice Bridge”. So I thought perhaps some of you would like it too! :)

  • Beautiful view of Interlaken lake, Switzerland.

  • I wandered down a snow-covered country road this morning and found some beautifully covered pine trees and an old split rail fence. The old, dirt back roads harbor some peaceful and serene scenery that one seldom sees… /

  • Schiffahrt Königssee, near Berchtesgaden in the Bavarian Alps, Germany. It is quite close to the border of Austria. The waters of the lake appear to be dark green because of the steep mountains that jut upward from its shores. We drove past the lake on our way back from Salzburg, heading to Munich and stopped to take pictures because it was so stunning. Thanks to ‘adrianney’ for the great title!

  • Image taken in Atka bay, Antarctica this past summer. Our research ship, Polarstern was stuck in the ice 10 km from the Nuemayer Base and after testing the strength of the ice we were allowed to explore this vast icy wonderland. Luckily for me, where the ship got stuck was near some Adelie penguins. • Lost in Utah would have been a more apt title after the GPS affectionately known as “Dorothy” lead me to a graveyard instead of a lake lol. I discovered some gorgeous countryside along route. There is nothing better than getting lost :))

  • Infrared image captured using a Hoya IR filter.

  • sometimes it is as easy as just going for a walk…to look at life everyday…sometimes the same thing and yet it never looks the same…i love that!! part of my driveway….we get the most beautiful snows…and then two days later not a sign of it left… i hope that during this time of year…where emotions run deep and time to just relax and be are not very often..that you all can take a moment and go for a walk… wishing everyone peace, and happiness..and a love that finds the heart to dance. terri

  • A quiet creek reflects the sky and trees on this winter day at Derby Reach Park. Nikon D90 / 16-85 mm Nikkor lens

  • Shiloh and I went on an outing yesterday to one of my favorite local trails, WIld Basin. When I saw this beautiful little tree growing up through the snow, it’s little branches glowing in the sunlight, my heart felt such an overwhelming sense of new life and hope….. Today in the USA brings the inauguration of a new President…history is being made and new beginnings are at hand….it is a time of change and my heart is full of hope for what lies ahead…. Many Blessings on President Obama & on us all for a country and world living in unity and peace…..

  • Sun rises over Sprague Lake and morning fog billows over snow capped mountains in the Rocky Mountain National Park in Estes Park, Colorado. Nikon D60 , Nikkor 18-55 mm VR lens. /

  • A lonely park bench waiting for company in a cold winter day.

  • Snow was coming down hard. Five minutes later the sun was out. Taken at Onondaga Park, Syracuse, NY

  • This is a drive by shooting. On a coach to St. Johann, Austria, the coach driver was tearing around the smallest hair pin turns on tiny Alpine roads as if he was late for some dumpling festival. I had the camera out just in case we crashed and took this photo while waiting for the crunch. Luckily that never happened. I hope you like it. Canon 5D, 24-70mm at 35mm, f/3.5, 1/1600 sec, ISO 1600. No filters used. A death speed coach window in the way. I evened out the chrome abs because of the high iso. This shot is also available from a photobook collection called Rural Mementos by redtree.me © Copyright 2009 David Reid – redtree.me – All rights reserved.

This artwork was featured in Dimensions, Imaginative Realism, Photo Manipulators, and Fantasy Fine Art Composites This image has come to mean a lot to me since I first posted it. When I was making it, I was simply merging a bunch of elements that I really enjoy – nature, juxtaposing seasons, a captivating background, interesting model poses, realistic water, and using a monochromatic blue colour scheme. But I guess subconsciously, I was creating an outward projection of how I feel about a very passionate issue with which I am currently faced… Due to resolution issues, the deer had to be photo-painted into the image. Water effect created using a displacement map in PS.
