Where do I begin with this piece? I have a lovely sweet pea vine that comes up along the back of my house every summer. The blooms are so pretty and the raindrops so exquisite on the pink petals and tendrils. It’s my favorite spot to obtain raindrop macros. After several photo shoots with this vine over the summer I tried to get a little more creative and put more of ‘myself’ into the image – literally! On the very top of the stem where you see a fine loop covered in waterdrops – that is actually a piece of my hair. Yes, I subjected myself to a moment of pain for this (smiles). / / Other than minor tone adjustments, and a slight saturation tweak, on the sweet pea stem itself – that part of the original image was left alone. I did so much to the background I wouldn’t even know where to begin. I don’t think there was a filter or distort tool I didn’t try until I finally achieved the look I wanted! I envisioned a pastel background with a marble look and am quite pleased with how it turned out. Raindrop Gallery / ADD RENEE TO YOUR WATCHLIST /
A little something different for this photograph. Tried my hand at some Photoshop art using the colours derived from Mr Perfect’s feathers. Special thanks to nineveh for the brushes used to create my artwork. Nineveh can be found on Deviant Art website. Please check out the painted artwork of Mr Eric Shepherd whom I was priviliged enough to have immortalise Mr Perfect here

The Sturt Desert Pea is a beautiful wild flower that grows in outback Australia. The Original painting has sold, but not without a story. I had some people come into my gallery saying that they were wanting a painting of Sturt Desert Peas. They said they couldn’t find one anywhere in Broken Hill. My husband kindly offered for me to paint them one. They said they were leaving town in two days and could I have it finished by then? My husband said ””””not a problem”””” – he is a great beleiver. I was not so convinced, but I said I would try. I worked all evening, all the next day and evening until I was satisfied and pleased with the painting. They were due to pick the painting up the next morning. They never came back. Lesson learned: When it comes to Art people are fickle. Always get a deposit and don’t trust their enthusiasm. Always try and do the right thing by others, but don’t expect others to do the right thing by you. Getting angry at others letting you down isn’t worth the energy. / Whoever buys this print, please remember that rich beauty can come out of trying circumstances. The Sturt Desert Pea is a living example – immense beauty growing in the harshest environment. Sue. A a nice little curl on a sugar peas plant. Post-processing: / Adjusted the contrast and white balance a bit in camera raw. Adjusted the curves, added a black and white layer with a light green tint set to soft light (100%) and a black and white layer set to normal (14%). Made a slight crop.

“Food that made Britain Great (ish)!” Available as a signed limited edition print direct from artist. Also available as a rather nice T shirt !
Acrylic on canvas. / A memorial portrait of my friend’s cat, Ringo, also known as Sir Pringleton Pea, or La Pea (cats need several names), which I have painted as a wedding present. I have tried to apply, in this painting, the things I have learned from the work of the amazing Al Neaimi. The photograph, unfortunately, does not capture the effects of the metallic golds and coppers I have used in the painting – particularly all the pale gold tips I have added to the hair, which from certain angles, give a shimmering, sunlit effect. / Happy to accept any cat portrait commissions. /
*Don’t phunk with my heart * / By: Black Eyed Peas You can listen here ;-) This image was really fun to create. I started in gimp doing lots of little sparkles, and drawing the heart shape. I added a filter or 5 ( I forget), and then moved onto photoshop. There I added the smoke, and some lighting effects, as well as a few more filters. There are all total more than 15 layers here… / / Thanks for viewing my work!!! If you like what you see here, have a peek at the rest of my work.
