This is as simple as it gets, yet for that, perhaps the most difficult. Knowing when to stop is the essence, but what a buzz I got from painting it. It is very wet Paynes grey Acrylic on a 40” x 30” single primed canvas. I hope you like it as much as I enjoyed making it. :-)

A view of the North West end of Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park on the southern outskirts of Gainesville, Florida in Alachua County. This 22,000 acre preserve was once a lake and was used by steamboats to carry cargo to and from communities in the area. Today it home for some 271 different species of birds, 800 kinds of plants, bison, alligators and wild horses.

Bison are among one of the many species of wild animals that roam the 22,000 acres of Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park in Gainesville, Florida USA. Wild horses, alligators,and many species of wild water fowl also inhabit the park.

This carving or statue stands on the corner across from the center of Jackson Hole City. I thought it was beautiful and deserved some attention. Jackson Hole is in Wyoming, USA and is a fun place to visit. We stayed at the small but fun cabin of the Tudor Hotel… where it just happens to be the same place my husbands parents stayed on their honeymoon over 50 years ago. The motel is still being run by family. The business past on. It was just about a block from the center park in Jackson Hole.
