Photograph on film / We were in Hawaii doing a Fashion shoot, and came across this local guy weaving bags and hats from large palm fronds. This was going to become a bag, but I stopped him almost straight after he started, and thought….. / I know exactly what I can do with that. I paid him for the bag, and we got a great prop for this picture!

Oils on canvas 30×30cm / In this one I think I painted quite closely to the manipulation. I did however turn some of the whips of fire in the shadows into locks of curly red hair. Shot with a Nikon F3, 50mm lense, Tri X film 400ASA, 1/125 sec f 5.6. Colorized in Adobe Photoshop. The scene took place during a summer pool party in Morristown, NJ. Paulette had beautiful long hair at the time, that reacher past her waist.

I’m trying to use a composition method with this one, inspired by ‘Hide And No Seek’, in which the hair complimented the backdrop of woodgrain, here, I’m complimenting the pin strip sleeve with a pin stripped backdrop.
