Took this macro photograph with aperture priority, late in the afternoon, it was getting quite dark so I used a flash on this shot! Just love Palm tree bark, this one had been burnt at some stage creating the charcoal sections. I have a few more fascinating photos which I will be uploading soon! / My passion is macro photograhy. I love to find hidden landscapes and abstract art in the bark of trees or in rocks. I also am quite partial to macro floral photography! My origami calendar A sailboat folded out of a 6×10mm piece of paper rowing along the lifeline in my palm. Wow I didn’t realize my hand had all these lines :P. I didn’t turn this into a black and white this time because I managed to get a cool light on my hand to make it more waterlike. The flow of life is parrallel to a journey off the land. It begins smooth, then the waves of adulthood brings high tides which we must overcome, However at the end of the ride, everything is smooth again. Ironically the lifeline in my palm depicts this flow; it begins smooth, then there is a big split and begin to ruffle, but towards the end it comes back together again. This concept was originally generated in May 2008, but I bought a tripod later on and re-shot this on September 2, 2009 For a better idea of scale: / / / This work has been featured in: / Two Word Challenge / / / Also available at Zazzle / / / / Works by Category / / Origami / Drawings,Paintings and Graphics / Abstract Photography / Guessing Games Flowers, Trees and Plants / Water and Waterscapes / Scenery/Skyscapes / Light, Shadow, and Reflections / Still Life Living Creatures / Human Portrait Japanfluence / Canada / Europe More sample origami: / / / / / / / / / ‘Serenity’, the Firefly spacecraft (My own design) / / / / / / / / / / /

Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” / ~Revelation 21:5a This is so comforting, especially when we are stuck in a position in life we never thought we’d be in. My hope is that this image will comfort and encourage you! Photomanipulation created in Photoshop CS2 Stock credit: / Wall texture by Adaee-Stock
i thought i’d try some layering in photoshop. i’ve never done this before, and i did not take the picture of the model, or the checkered floor with textured wall.. all the images are off of deviant art. this kind of art i tried was inspired by myoriginalsin [check out her work its incredible!] i’m not nearly as good as her but i wanted to see if i could do it. i hope you guys like this. it took well over an hour to get it right. what i did was / 1. i searched the stock on deviant art for the background, the model, and the hearts. 2. i dragged the photo of the model over to the background picture and erased all the access background from the picture of the model [the forest area she was originally in] 3. i dragged the heart over and turned it to “sketch” so it looked like a pencil drawing. i wanted it to be transparent 4. i merged it all together 5. i played with the contrast and lighting effects. 6. i desaturated it so it wasn’t as vibrant with the models skin tones [it didnt mesh well] 7. i saved it! that is how i did this piece of art.
a kind of self portrait… inspired by true events
