  • In a reflective mood….....

  • I love ferns but can’t grow them here very well, too cold. I found this one on the coast, they are gorgeous.

  • An old lantern next to the entrance to the Virgin Mary Visitation church in Hejnice, Jizera mountains, Czech Republic. I feel that giving light is very symbolic for this place where the pilgrimage roads from several countries cross since the 13th century… February 2002. Canon EOS 500N, Sigma 28-135. Post-processing: retouch, blend-modes, color correction, watercolor.

  • A couple of untouched reflection photographs. Best viewed LARGE

  • Dec. 9 2009 – 555 views. A metal pole showing signs of age with interesting texture and rust. This was one of my very first rust abstracts. I realized how much I enjoyed this type of photography and more so the attention this shot got made me start capture abstracts. Captured in Toronto, Ontario Canada with a Nikon D200, Nikkor 24-120mm /

  • From the vege patch. Impressionist photographs, effect achieved ‘in-camera’. Best viewed LARGE

  • Blossom’s_Photo_Gallery Sunflower and Bees The sunflower (Helianthus annuus) is an annual plant in the family Asteraceae and native to the Americas, with a large flowering head. The stem can grow as high as 3 meters (9 3/4 ft), and the flower head can reach 30 cm (11.8 in) in diameter with the “large” seeds. The term “sunflower” is also used to refer to all plants of the genus Helianthus, many of which are perennial plants. / What is usually called the flower is actually a head of numerous florets (small flowers) crowded together. The outer florets are the sterile ray florets and can be yellow, maroon, orange, or other colours. The florets inside the circular head are called disc florets, which mature into what are traditionally called “sunflower seeds,” but are actually the fruit of the plant. The inedible husk is the wall of the fruit and the true seed lies within the kernel. The florets within the sunflower’s cluster are arranged in a spiralling pattern. Canon PowerShot A650 IS Shutter Speed: 1/320sec / Aperture: F4.5 / ISO: 100

  • The phenomenon of light reflecting off a soap bubble is rarely observed. The iridescent colours are caused by interfering light waves, some of which reflect off the outer surface. I used a macro lens in order to capture this in detail. No adjustments were made to colour or saturation in Photoshop, only a simple square crop! As featured in the group ‘Super Macro Photography’ – 10/07/09 Thank you to all who stop by to have a look, it’s much appreciated, as are your comments! Copyright © Lesley Williamson 2009

  • We were in the Bahamas, visiting the luxurious Atlantis, the walkway to the enterance, water flowing underneath was lined with balusters, the sun streaming in. The black and white image better highlighting the darks and lights of the image.

  • Lots of walking to obtain a clean beach and a low sun angle gave me a great opportunity for this image.
