  • ACEO, 2.5×3.5 inches, watercolour and gouache, 2008. A portrait of Patroclus, in Greek mythology the best friend/lover of Achilles. During the Trojan war he dresses in Achilles armour and is killed by Hector. Achilles revenges his death by killing Hector and desecrating his body by dragging it behind his chariot.

  • 4.5×6.5 inches, watercolour, 2009. Patroclus (left) and Achilles were friends/lovers and fought together in the Trojan war. Patroclus dons Achilles armour after Achilles argues with Agamemnon and refuses to fight. He is later killed by Hector, who believes him to be Achilles. Achilles is distraught, refusing to bury Patroclus’ body until his ghost appears to him and tells him he cannot enter Hades unless he is cremated. Achilles later kills Hector and desecrates his body in revenge.
