Lest we forget… God Bless America… patriotic music stirs feelings of love of our country, but also feelings of love for our God who continues to bless us! My daughter shot this using some of my patriotic sheet music we ran through the copier on parchment paper to get the yellow look. Add a clarinet and a misted rose, and the pic was complete.
I haven’t been called to the “sand box” yet, but I have plenty of Army buddies that have. Keep your heads down, guys! Come home safely.

petunia and flag for Lori! My thanks to you for your service to our country!!!
here in townsend like any other place in the US of A, we celebrated the fourth of july with fireworks. / This fireworks show was actually done in a small community that is within the town, area called Big Valley. / Our town fireworks were done on friday night on the fourth, and they had their’s the next night. / I shot this using the “bulb” setting, which i have realized it’s something I need to practice on. It takes just the right timing to get all the light you can and then release the button just as the fireworks explode. there is alittle trial and error for using this method of shooting, especially when what you’re shooting is constantly changing / best if viewed larger :) Shot this in Manual Mode / using bulb setting / Focal length at 17mm / ISO of 1600 / Exposure time at 7 sec / Ev at 0 / F-stop at F11
one of my set up photos that actually worked!! / Taken with my canon 30D
Given that President OBAMA is stepping into power on January 20th--I thought a re-release was in order—this issue WILL NOT GO AWAY! / Below are my original words: 7 years ago, this morning, on September, 11, 2001--I sat there, with all of you, as we collectively went through the deepest levels, of National and Personal: / Mourning-Rage-Screaming-Crying-Shock-Vengence-Hate-Loss-Amazement-Partriotism…we all dealt with it then-and deal with it now—in our own ways. That day and the subsequent years of “fallout” have taken a toll on our Great Nation; for Good, for Bad, and for Ugly. MAY WE NEVER FORGET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!—-alllllllll of it. I have created many works of art about September 11th, but this one seems to be the Best one to share with you today; on this anniversary day. May we never forget the thousands who were lost then--and the thousands who are BEING LOST today. And--may our leaders find any way it takes—to stop this running tally. I truly pray, that this image of mine, will help HEAL our National, Wounded Hearts, and in any small way, help to bring comfort to us all. And, when I hear folks talking trash about America, I always know this—-they have never seen what I have seen. I always wish I could instantly translate them to perhaps, one of the thousands of flithy tin, or cardboard shelters of Haiti, where many families have to sleep on the ground, in shifts, and fight for anything they might be able to scratch up to eat. And, see the children gathered around the garbage heaps, to find food next to the pigs. Or, mothers washing their babies in stagnant poors, of contaminated runoff waters. If you don’t like it here-———then PLEASE LEAVE! I REFUSE TO FORGET 911. GOD BLESS MY BEAUTIFUL COUNTRY! I AM STILL PROUD TO BE CALLED AN AMERICAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bleeding love Where are we, what the hell is going on / The dust has only just begun to fall / Closed off from love, spinning round again / We didn’t need the pain, twice or thrice was enough / It was all in vain, time never ceases to pass / We’re frozen in this cycle of destruction Oil marks appear on walls, / where pleasure moments hung before / Sweeping insanity, sweeping insanity / Oh the insensitivity Something happened on the way, we lost our way / There was a very first time with us, we tasted the displeasure / The bile of unhappy endings and scorched earth policies / We let our hearts melt, / disappearing into the very ground we tread upon / We lost what was true, found something false to replace it / People get ready, there’s a train a coming / And everyone’s looking round, / but we no longer know who is going crazy / I know I’m going crazy Few are bold to say without care for circumstance / I don’t care what they say, I am still in love with you / Torturous souls that love the very thing that makes them sad / They try to pull us away, but they don’t know the truth / Our heart’s are crippled by the vein they keep on closing / They cut us open, and we keep bleeding / We just keep bleeding love We tried hard not to hear, but they talk so loud / Their pandering and propaganda piercing our ears / Question and they try to fill us with doubt / Our goal is to keep me from falling Nothing in this world is greater than the rush that comes / with our patriotic embrace / In this world of loneliness we must cease to lose face / Now everyone around us is going crazy, maybe, maybe It’s draining our history, it’s draining our souls / They find it hard to believe that we pity them / It is all of us who will be wearing these scars / For everyone to see Taken w/Nikon D2Xs + Nikkor 300/2.8 AFS VR

Words for MY COUNTRY / By: Dale Crum / My Country is called AMERICA… the Land of the FREE and the Home of the BRAVE… My Precious FLAG is RED; dyed in the most costly pigment on planet earth… millions of gallons of rich royal crimson blood… Freely spilled from the hearts of the bravest men, and women our fair land had to offer… and WHITE… the color of blank pages of great hopeful anticipation, for the next wondrous chapters of our grand history yet to be written… and Blessed BLUE… the hallowed Star-filled night sky looming over us all… The indigo heavens which the fallen last looked upon… through blood flooded eyes… whispering brave cries of love… knowing the sparkling kisses of these same fading stars… tenderly cloak their loved ones back home… for whom they willing laid down their precious lives… TRUEST PATRIOTS ONE AND ALL! / I DO THIS DAY CREATE THIS PIECE IN HONOR OF THEE! WOE BE UNTO ALL those who would to denigrate, defile, and slander one drop of their blessed crimson flow… mistake not our pause… as a sign of weakness or of falling… but as a time of prayer and calling… unto the One who forged this land of Blessing, of Protection, of Freedom… for we have been faithful guardians over planet earth… the strong arm of bravery when tyrants sought to oppress… What color flag is it that bludgeoned eyes long to see rise ore the burning horizons of a million scorched hills? Tis the Red, and the White, and Star Kissed Blue! None other flag has given such great hope… none other flag has rescued more prisoners… none other flag has paid such a horrible price… none other flag but mine. Buzzard Fools are circling my flag this darkening day… smelling the air for the stench of death… brushing my sacred banner all too closely… roosting in trees rooted in treasonous bloated bellies… BUT HEAR ME WELL YE COWARDS… THIS EAGLE IS NOT BROKEN… SHE STILL SOARS… AND NOW ROARS OUT HER WARNING… HERE AND NOW… AND FOREVER MORE! SHE IS AMERICA… AND SHE IS MY COUNTRY!
Last night I went to the Airpower Over Hampton Roads Airshow. I stopped near a parking lot at the end of the runway, and was treated to the return of four F-15E Strike Eagle pilots. As they walked towards us, they asked us how they looked and if their 4 ship formation was nice and tight. They then joked that this pictured pilot here, was probably way off the mark, I even commented that I didn’t get his plane in even with THAT lens. It was fun to see the human aspect of an airshow, and having a laugh with these hometown heros. I can’t believe how young these “kids” looked.

This is a puppy called Uno. He is an “American” Pit Bull Terrier. I was splitting a litter with a girl who got his Mom from me in 2008. Tragically he was the only puppy of 11 who survived. He is now in a wonderful home with a Mom and Dad and 3 kids who just adore him. His breed is truly American, and little Uno was Made In America! :)) / FEATURED IN CATS AND DOGS / FEATURED IN COUNTRY BUMPKIN / FEATURED IN THE APBT LOVERS GROUP / FEATURED IN OUR K9 FRIEND / FEATURED IN THE SCAVENGER HUNT PLACED IN THE TOP 10 IN THE PATRIOTIC PET CHALLENGE – PETS ARE US CHALLENGE WINNER – OUR 4TH OF JULY PETS – IN PAWS N CLAWS / / Also available in a T-Shirt HERE

13 people were murdered and over 30 wounded at Ft. Hood Army Base in Texas just 2 days ago. My prayers and thoughts are with the victims family.
The peak of the Sydney Harbour Bridge climb. Such an incredible sight passing under the bridge in the late afternoon, to the silhouettes of the climbers all waving to us as we sailed back into Sydney on our cruise. Standing on the top deck of the ship, ‘Land Down Under’ (sung by Men At Work) playing loudly, what a truly great Aussie moment! Camera – Nikon D90 / Lens 55-200mm Textures layers added.
