This image was taken before dawn down at North Narrabeen Rock Pool. This is one of the largest rock pools in Australia. This image was a 3 minute exposure which captures a lovely blurring of the clouds. The interesting colours of the water are due to overhead lighting on the pool. This is a very simple but peaceful image. For those that want to find out how I produced this, I described my processing in detail in one of my blog posts You can read it here

Sometimes we have to make our own way down the road of life…......
PATH TO THE BEACH / Wins the Monocrome Challenge 27/07/08 Wins a SILVER AWARD / at the Canon Better Photography of the Year 2008*
I went for a walk tonight, in the fog, hoping it would conceal my troubles. I have chosen many paths in my life and for reason. As i walked tonight I realized I was on a path I did not choose. I continue to struggle for survival, for food, for shelter. This place I roamed as a young one seems a lot smaller these days. I have young ones also, I fear things are even going to be harder for them as they grow up. I usually wear a face thats shows pride and honor. I think if they could see my face right now they would see one of concern and worry. We try to conceal these things from the ones we love, but at what point do we tell them the truth. All I can do is teach them as i was taught, and together we will have to walk this path not chosen.

Inspired by Little Red Riding Hood (or Little Red Cap depending on the version you’re reading). Here’s the verse, just in case it’s hard to read on the image: ‘when we are young we are often told / do not stray from the path / i can’t help but wonder / how much have we missed / from only doing what we’re asked?’
