  • ©Seth F.Weaver Sr.1972. Linoleum block print. This was inspired by the TV mini-series “Roots” and the life and blight of slavery in the South. I have always liked this print it has a “The Gleaner” feel and look to it. This will probably not be popular with everyone with it’s lack of color, but black and white can be colorful too! Seth

  • Herringfleet Mill can be found where you might least expect to find it – about twenty yards on the Suffolk side of the Norfolk/Suffolk border. Given Norfolk’s monopoly on spectacular, well-preserved mills, it seems only fair that neighbouring Suffolk should have a few of its own…although it should be noted that even this mill is officially in the Norfolk Broads. This photograph was taken on an extremely February day. A 13 seconds’ exposure captured the movement of the clouds as they raced across the East Anglian sky. Canon EOS 5D and EF 16-35mm lens. Exposure of 13 seconds at f/22.

  • This was taken at dusk of Beachport jetty at Beachport, South Australia and I have changed this to monochrome. This was taken with a Canon DSLR EOS 350D camera. 21 July 2009 – I have just found out that, with this shot, I have made it as a finalist in the MURRURUNDI KEDDIES PASTORAL PHOTOGRAPHIC PRIZE for 2009.

  • I could not believe my eyes when I saw this visual feast. I was so enamored with it, it took me a few minutes before I could commence photographing the scene. This image was achieved with a few multiple exposures of varying focus degrees with my Nikon 801, a film camera I used then; hence the slight radiating appearance. This pastoral setting was found near Orangville ON.

  • Spent the weekend along the beautiful Snoma Coast. It rained almost the entire time so those sunsets I was hoping for did not happen. Did get some opportunity for fog shots though. This field was next to a house my daughter was staying in just acrss the road from the ocean.

  • [Taken in natural light and straight from the camera] This photo was taken just before Lillian was beaten by an older boy who used her as a source of income. I was on the way to Tunga/Zuga Village, a Remote village in Kebbe State, Nigeria, and we stopped to re-fuel our off road vehicles. One of our team, Pastor Joshua, our medical officer, got into conversation with with this young girl as she came to our vehicle and asked us to buy peanuts. My Spirit was drawn to her and I asked her if she ever went to school. She said No. We noticed an older boy who was lurking behind a wall, who was shouting and calling her name. I did not know what he was saying, but Pastor Joshua did as he is a native Nigerian. She became afraid and left us and went back to him. He began to push her and punch and kick her. She dropped her tray and run back to us. Sister Saidi, our mission Co-ordinator, comforted the girl, while our driver caught the older boy and beat him. (The driver was very angry. We could not stop him.) The girl explained she was raped and beaten by the boy and by truck drivers. She said she had nowhere to live or stay except with him. We took her with us and left her with Pastor Joshua’s aunt, who lived in a village that we would pass on our way to Tunga/Zuga village. A year later now and she is well cared for and loved by her new family. We contribute towards her keep. Her name is Lillian. I thank God for arranging our meeting with Lillian. These verses seem to be written just for Lillian’s new family: Mark 9:35 * And he sat down, and called the twelve, and saith unto them, If any man desire to be first, the same shall be last of all, and servant of all. / 36 And he took a child, and set him in the midst of them: and when he had taken him in his arms, he said unto them, / 37 Whosoever shall receive one of such children in my name, receiveth me: and whosoever shall receive me, receiveth not me, but him that sent me. • Driving through the countryside on the Yorke Peninsula in Australia is amazing. The wide open spaces with the incredible expanse of sky is breathtaking. I was fortunate enough to be there when the hills were lush and green – due to all the recent rains. / The hillsides are dotted with amazing gum trees – seen here – and flocks of sheep…(or herds as some people refer to them!) on stations. Tho’ I’m told the size of the flocks/herds! have been greatly reduced over the years.
