Pastel Painting on black velour with NuPastels , Sennillier Plein Aire Pastels and Conte Pastel pencils. Would appreciate critique and title. I had a problem trying to decide on a title for this. It started out as a value study. When I look at it I think of the difference in a delicate leaf and a rock or bolder of stone. The smoothness of the leaf and the roughness of a stone make a contrast of texture thats are often seen together . After a few days and a few comments I have decided to entitle this “A Fallen Leaf”.

My handsome son, Warrick. Layers and filters used to get this effect. The high pass filter first which was blended using vivid light, then the rough pastels which was converted to black and white and partially erased to bring some colour through.
