Pastel on cartridge paper. This is not for sale because I used a magazine photo as reference.
This work was featured in the “In The Moment” publication! Thanks Redbubble! Pastel on Kitty Wallis sanded paper from “The White Album” series, inspired by the Beatles tune of the same name. The series is also inspired by the hallmarks of adolescence, such as chatting with friends. The advent of cell phones hasn’t changed the way teens communicate all that much.
Chalk pastels on black paper / Used Lance Leopold’s photograph as reference.

Pastel on Paper, 70cm X 50cm. / Portrait of Jessie, also called Cat or Katt :P A step away from my usual lack of props, which is because as I always maintain I work with my models, so the parasol and such where her idea of how she wanted to show herself. / Now the burnt out has past, I think I likes it. / Looks much sharper then I remember it being, when you are in the zone to draw something like this you see nothing but faults. / Paid an arm and a leg for a pro photo, it’s pretty freaking sharp.
Pastel on Sanded Paper (Burgundy Colourfix) 35cm x 50cm A portrait of a ‘true blue’ Aussie! (He also happens to be my husband, Peter)! I particularly enjoyed the colours in the ‘Drizabone’ coat, and the light and shade on the face. Reloaded as it wasn’t showing on activity lists! Having tried to get her to pose for me and failing on the whole, I gave up and she started playing with her NDS… well i grabbed two scarves she has, which were freebies from the local Wok Buffet Restaurant and managed to get them to stay on her head and snapped about 10 shots whilst she was playing, every odd shot I had to say DS down as it was getting higher and higher and was in the picture! Well this is the result and I actually quite like it! Natural light through the window. Aged 8 years. Nikon D40 18-55mm
Pastel on sanded Colourfix paper (burgundy) – 70cm x 50cm Con Conning was the first member of the Seymour & District Art Society to be made a Life Member. Originally from New Zealand, Con is a superlative artist painting mainly in watercolour. He is a much loved and valued member of the Art Society and the community in general. I painted this portrait as a tribute to Con for the Art Society 21st Birthday celebrations held last November. It is currently on display at the Old Courthouse Gallery, Seymour, in an exhibition called ‘About Face’ and when that finishes I will make a gift of this painting to Con and his family. 9×12 pastel on Tiziano paper I can’t seem to get “Tangerine” by Led Zeppelin out of my head right now. “The Living reflection of a dream”. What kind of woman inspired those words? Some songs just get lodged in your head and stay there for days and days. Tangerine video link
9.5×13 pastel on Tiziano pastel paper There she was captured for a split second among the blooming dahlia. Beauty beyond words, and eyes that contained the universe.
10×13 pastel on Tiziano paper This is what I did today instead of the hundred other things I needed to do. The last thing I thought I would be doing today is drawing another faerie….she just wouldn’t leave me alone! I think that is one reason we are so drawn to faeries. We imagine them living in nature wild and free. No laundry to fold, socks to match, kids to pick up, house to clean, dinner to cook. Wild and free and unaffected by time! Because Time is the Revelator!!
this one is a better version, with corrected mesures, / this girl is nuts about chocolates but she almost never buy them, / why would she, since she recieve em’ from friends every single hours, / haha !!!! / please enjoy !! the new spring HAT / from 8B to 6H graphite pencils AND oil pastel for selective coloring /on canson MI-teinte 160g/m² (grain) / little larger than A3 size

Pastel on black paper
This is a series I started shortly after my older brother Darren’s wedding in March this year. / I couldn’t afford a wedding present for him and I felt terrible about it, so I decided to start drawing a belated wedding present for them. / This is the work that I am most proud of to date. / I started the first one in April and finished the last one in June. / It was an epic body of work that I had to keep going back to between commisions. I have been dying to post this first installment since I finished it on April 20th 2009, but restrained myself until all three were completed. / Special thanks to Mark at Perceptions Photography for giving me permission to use the reference photo (which you can see on his website) Derwent Pastel Pencils and Windsor & Newton Pastels on Beige Canson Paper / Completed 18th June, 2009
9×12 pastel on Sennelier La carte paper FEATURED IN THE SISTERHOOD, THE DIVINE FEMININE, AND FEMININE INTENT Just something to go along with my Blackbird. Maybe I will do a whole series of women and birds. I think she captures that primal sacred feminine energy that red birds/cardinals symbolize.
9×12 pastel on Sennelier paper Just a quick little sketch I did for fun at the expense of our dear, sweet Linaji. When Linaji requested I do a Kali I don’t think this is exactly what she had in mind. When I saw the picture she posted of herself chowing down on that dog I just couldn’t resist. I hope she doesn’t employ the wrath of Kali upon me for doing this!
9×12 pastel on Sennelier paper This is dedicated to all my sisters on Red Bubble. I am eternally grateful for your gentle wisdom, divine intuition, and massive sense of humor. You all walk the path of the Wise Women, and I am so lucky to get to follow behind you.
Here is a portrait or one of my favorite artists and people… Connie-Marie. / I should probably call it an “homage to CM” because it is more about the feeling that I got from her beautiful heart-felt work than an exacting image of her. I do have three more portraits on my board right now for RedBubble artists. Art of artists… I like this. 8×10 in. Mixed Media: Pencil, Charcoal, Design Marker, Pastel, Colored Pencil, Photoshop on watercolor paper.
Pastel pencil on Sennelier La Carte. I think it’s done now but I’m keeping the WIPs :-)
This is the original pastel painting I painted from my photograph of Elizabeth, a young woman that posed for a couple of other artist’s as well as myself. The original is 18×24 on sanded pastel paper.
