  • The bridge reminds me of an emotion of solitude, which is not to be confused with loneliness. The former leads to an internal peace and being one with nature and oneself while the latter was a feeling of being forced to be alone, deprived of freedom and choice. I used to call this photo “Peaceful Bridge” until a young patient of mine (at the time she was nine years old) explored the difference between solitude and loneliness. When the image was presented to him as an illustration, he exclaimed, “Oh, solitude is peace, inner peace!” And the true title of the piece was born. • Sunrise on Dec. 9, 2007 at north of Montreal.

  • This is one of the sunrise photos on Dec. 9, 2007 at the north of Montreal.

  • In one crisp winter morning when it was -30Âșc at 7am, I stopped at the border between Quebec and Ontario in Prescott County, risking freezing my hand off with all the twiddling of the dials of camera, a shot was taken for this multi-colored sky just a split second before the sun poked its head out of the clouds. This photo was directly uploaded from my camera to RedBubble, no processing whatsoever.

  • At 3am this morning, I thought I’d start shoveling my backyard. The depth of snow deterred my ambition in cleaning up except a couple of “tunnels” for River – I took a picture of my little shed at pre-dawn and went to the nature park near by with River. :) Donation to charity / 50% of the proceeds of the sale of this image will be donated to Nature Canada.

  • It was a freezing day while River and I were in the nature park. The trees looked cold but stood tall and strong. This is the same image as the first “Winter Blues” after Gigi told me that I should try a darker color for it. So it qualifies as my third try on this “effect thing” thanks to all the instructions and guidance from my “mentor” on this matter! I guess one could say that I love anything that has to do with nature including the living beings, the woods, the trees, the rivers and streams, and the mountains…. In a way, the trees represent longevity even though my “rational mind” knows they don’t live forever – my “passion” towards the trees is in its “illusion” of the ever lasting life, or perhaps what it always gives back to the earth in living or in death. :) Donation to charity / 50% of the proceeds of the sale of this image will be donated to Nature Canada.

  • Over the last summer and fall, I must have taken over a thousand shots of this old buck alone. He was around most of the mornings when River and I were in the woods. Sometimes he was playful, other times very hungry so he simply ignored the camera and kept on eating but this morning he was pensive and wanted a portrait to express just that! I guess I grew quite attached to him!

  • This is a photo taken just before dawn in the woods of Mont Laurier, just before one reaches Val D’or, where one drives in the nearby Canadian national park for hours with only nature and wildlife. It’s a winter morning at about 5:30am and the camera is pointed away from where the sun was to come up.

  • This is the little foot bridge around the forest I frequent with River. It was shot after the first snow this winter. Yesterday someone wanted to purchase this piece at a local gallery but she wanted me to give her more choices of framing and I finally came up with this version and she (along with her children) love it as her 12-year-old called it “The Magic Ice Bridge”. So I thought perhaps some of you would like it too! :)

  • The little shelter in the middle of the woods reminds me the peaceful and yet ever so intimate life of “The Little House on the Prairie”. :)
