  • Because I’ve been stuck at home, I’m getting into the macro photography! Here’s another one I took today and it turned out okay…. I know it’s been done before but it’s new to me!

  • Out of the bouquet of a beautiful bride … cast into the foreverness of the ocean of love.

  • I took this photo in my front yard of a slightly withered red rose. The colour of the rose was so saturated that it caught my eye. I then played around with the contrast, exposure, and brightness to end up with this, I hope you like it.

  • The centre of a very beautiful rose

  • Acrylic on stretched canvas. Original is sold

  • This is what happens when I get flowers- I smile, take care of them and arrange them, and then I get out my camera to take lots of pictures! I love flowers, especially roses- simple yet complex, delicate, eternal beauties. I tried to show that in this image I created in photoshop, and just looking at it gives me a feeling of serene happiness. Hope you enjoy it too! / / / See other flowers

  • Red rose with a little water drop a little bit off-centre…

  • To open…to become…to expose the heart - / that’s what flowers do - / and with passion… / the same for people too -

  • Another experiment with my rose photo session.

  • Mixed media work. I composed the background with a fractal design and photoshop elements. Ted took the photograph of this rose and made a perfect cut out. After blending the two and playing with filters I got this endresult.

  • DESIRE / I don’t do too many flower photo’s.. there are so many here that have an eye i never even dreamed of having.. but I have been saving this shot for a day when I felt as beautiful as this flower..unfolding to the limitless possibilities of life. /

  • I love the feeling of this piece. It has passion and is on fire. This was really an organic creation. I planned painting the dried rose in watercolour and didn’t plan drawing over the painting in black and red pens. I just got started and couldn’t stop. I love how the ink enhances the watercolour. It was a lot of fun daring myself.

  • Macro of a red rose with waterdrops taken with a Samsung GX20 and a Sigma 50mm macro lens. Straight from the camera (except for the RAW conversion process). Roses are ancient symbols of love and beauty. The rose was sacred to a number of goddesses (including Isis and Aphrodite), and is often used as a symbol of the Virgin Mary. ‘Rose’ means pink or red in a variety of languages (such as Romance languages, Greek, and Polish). A red rose (often held in a hand) is a symbol of socialism or social democracy: it is used as a symbol by British, Irish, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Norwegian, Danish, Swedish, Finnish, Brazilian, Dutch and other European labor, socialist or social democratic parties. This originated when the red rose was used as a badge by the marchers in the May 1968 street protests in Paris. The White Rose was a World War II non violent resistance group in Germany. A bouquet of red roses is often used to show love. It is used as a Valentine’s Day gift in many countries. On St George’s Day in Catalonia people offer dark red roses as gifts, especially between lovers. The Virolai, a hymn to the Virgin of Montserrat, one of the black Madonnas of Europe, begins with the words: “Rosa d’abril, Morena de la serra…” (April rose, dusky lady of the mountain chain…). Therefore this virgin is sometimes known as “Rosa d’abril”. The red rose is thus widely accepted as an unofficial symbol of Catalonia.
