This is one of first high dynamic range photographs. It is composed of three exposures. The colors were editing consisted of trying to bring out the wonderful light I was seeing,
I took this last January, and it is one of my favorite water images. I hope you enjoy.
Taken when the sun was low and the light was bouncing off the clouds. It was a wonderful day with beautiful light.

Background Information: / Moraine Lake is a glacially fed lake in Banff National Park, 14 kilometres outside the Village of Lake Louise, Alberta, Canada. It is situated in the Valley of the Ten Peaks, at an elevation of approximately 6183 feet (1884 m). The lake has a surface area of 0.5 km². The lake, being glacially fed, does not reach its crest until mid to late June. However, when it is full, it is a beautiful shade of blue. The lake gets its color from the refraction of light off the rock flour deposited in the lake on a continual basis. Background Information: / Peyto Lake is a glacier-fed lake located in Banff National Park in the Canadian Rockies. The lake itself is easily accessed from the Icefields Parkway. It was named for Ebenezer William Peyto, an early trail guide and trapper in the Banff area. The lake is formed in a valley of the Waputik Range, between Caldron Peak, Peyto Peak and Mount Jimmy Simpson, at an elevation of 1,860 m (6,100 ft). During the summer, significant amounts of glacial rock flour flow into the lake, and these suspended rock particles give the lake a bright, turquoise color. Because of its bright color, photos of the lake often appear in illustrated books, and area around the lake is a popular sightseeing spot for tourists in the park. The lake is best seen from Bow Summit, the highest point on the Icefield Parkway. The lake is fed by the Peyto Creek, which drains water from the Caldron Lake and Peyto Glacier (part of the Wapta Icefield), and flows into the Mistaya River. Background Information: / This picture is taken near Athabasca Falls . Athabasca Falls in Jasper National Park is just 23 metres high. However, it is not known for its height. Instead it is known for the force of the falling water due to the quantity of water flowing. Even on a cold morning in the fall, copious amounts of water flow over the falls. A layer of hard quartzite has allowed the falls to cut into the softer limestone below carving the short gorge and a number of potholes. White water rafting often starts below the falls to travel downstream on the Athabasca River to Jasper, Alberta. It is a class 5 waterfall, with a drop of 80 ft (24 m) and a width of 60 ft (18 m). There is a special place just off the Blue Ridge Parkway where you can climb these stairs to a beautiful overlook. The best times seem to be when the mist is moving in over the mountains. This picture is dedicated to Annie and Jean – my sisters who have climbed these stairs with me!! Taken in Western North Carolina. I used the PhotoShop Orton effect to give this picture an even more dreamy texture. Featured in Southern Style: A Downhome Perspective – June 11, 2009! Mountain bog on the Blue RIdge Parkway near Linville, North Carolina. This photo was taken late in the afternoon. When I started photographing it was very dark and foggy. It began raining and the camera got wet. I was getting ready to drive away but then the fog began to lift and the sun almost came out. I hopped out of the car and took a few more pictures. About 10 minutes later the dark skies, fog, and rain reappeared. Nikon D50 / The photo shown below, “A Hint of Red” was taken of the same bog but in early Fall. / / !
