  • I went out on a trike ride this afternoon. Only 20% chance of rain, except we got 100% of the 20% that was expected. I kept saying to my self, hmmm, water makes the colors more saturated. What colors??? So here is the only one of the batch that I can post. We are half way between summer and fall. Rain is in the forecast, and I can forget about getting out to take pictures of the moon anytime soon

  • autumn colors in the forest

  • Smithville Park, Eastampton, New Jersey

  • This Elsecar Park, our local one, love the old bandstand here, not many parks with bandstands left around here, they are in the middle of a make-over of the park, which is nice for something to be kept as it should!

  • This is my latest little foray into the world of IR photography.. After looking through my gallery I decided that I desperately needed to get out and take some more shots, especially infrared ones.. / This was taken down at the same place that my Deserted World image was taken. / It was unfortunately the only IR shot that worked out today because I stupidly forgot to set the custom WB before heading out and didnt realise til I had finished all my shots so I then quickly rushed this one before heading home. / I hope you like it and as with all my work comments are more than welcome, whether complimenting or critiquing. • “Forest Path“ I sure enjoy finding the old log roads, and strolling through the autumn forest, it so much easier walking, and for enjoying the beauty of autumn the forest. This log road was like walking through a magic tunnel of multicolor lights, as the forest canopy covered its pathway. / Taken in the Arkansas Ozark Mountains, Withrow Springs State Park. Fall 2007. / This years leaves seemed to have more pastel colors, compared to the bold colors of the previous years…. / Canon PowerShot S3 IS /

  • Best view larger. NOTE: Rainbow Waterfalls was nominated to the Pay It Forward group by Kathy S Gillentine and here is what she had to say: ”I want to nominate bigd / He has a great eye for photography. He has allowed to ask me how to do things if he’s not sure ,then he helps me find the way. Big D has been a true inspiration to me ,not only by his work but by his kindness to help me when I need help. His images are beautiful and well thought out. Take the time to look through his extensive portfolio and be inspired by his work.” Kathy S Gillentine It’s a huge surprise and thanks Kathy. Taken at Watkins Glen State Park on 10/31/2008 in the town of Watkins Glen. I changed the background because it was too busy with trees and harsh light. A Canon Rebel XTi camera and edited in PS. • An infrared photo I took a while ago… but I just found it again on my computer. The title is from the song playing at the moment on iTunes….I’m lost for inspiration – “One Crowded Hour” by Augie March from their album “Moo, You Bloody Choir” – well worth a listen if you haven’t heard it.

  • There will be times when you will be in / the field without a camera. And, you will see the most glorious sunset / or the most beautiful scene that you have ever witnessed. / Don’t be bitter because you can’t record it. / Sit down, drink it in, and enjoy it for what it is!

  • When things go wrong as they sometimes will, / When the road you’re trudging seems all uphill, / When funds are low and the debts are high, / And you want to smile, but you have to sigh. / When care is pressing you down a bit. / Rest, if you must, but don’t you quit. / Life is queer with its twists and turns / As every one of us sometimes learns. / And many a failure turns about / When he might have won had he stuck it out: / Don’t give up though the pace seems slow - / You may succeed with another blow. / Success is failure turned inside out - / The silver tint of the clouds of doubt. / And you never can tell how close you are. / It may be near when it seems so far: / So stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit / It’s when things seem worst that you must not quit.
