A beautifull sunrise captured in Bryce Canyon Natl. Park, Utah. Enjoy!
Goosenecks State PArk at Sunrise on a November morning. The San Juan River covers 5 miles total while moving West only 1 mile as it bends back and forth through the sandstone of Southern Utah
It was in mid-April, the second day after I had bought the new Nikon D80 when the weather here provided a perfect sunrise morning with some mist. Nothing more quickly done in the morning than rushing with my bike towards the paradisical grounds of the country-house of Groeneveld near Baarn where I so often shoot. And I can tell you: it was worth it! Groeneveld, 12th April 2007, 7.30 am / Nikon D 80 with Nikkor 18-200 mm at 52 mm / F 9, 1/160, ISO 200
After 13 days of non stop rain, it was great to see the sun come up this morning. This jetty is about 30 metres from my back fence, so it didn’t require too much effort – just rolled out of bed and stumbled down in my pyjamas : ) / / Blackalls Park / Lake Macquarie NSW Australia

The roadside Pearsons Lookout, on the Castlereagh Highway just south of Capertee village, gives a view over the expansive Capertee Valley / Surrounded by the wonders of World Heritage listed wilderness, the Capertee valley is the world’s second largest canyon. Capertee is 1 kilometre longer than the Grand Canyon, but not quite as deep. Sandstone cliffs dominate the escarpment, drawing down into a deep chasm carved into the environment over millions of years. With tranquil vistas and serene mountain landscapes the Capertee Valley is abundant in flora and wildlife. Under the sandstone layer stretches an enormous layer of coal and oil shale. Rising majestically out of the valley floor is a monolith in size and spectacle. The impressive peak, Pantoney’s Crown, beckons the keen walker to climb its summit. From the top a 360° panorama, of the dramatic and breathtaking valley. The Capertee valley is located in The Gardens Of Stone National Park The Blue Mountains if a World Heritage Area , a few hours by road west of Sydney and are a must when visiting Sydney. Arches National Park Sunset in Moab Utah. As I walked down the trail from the Delicate Arch the sun began to set behind the range of mountains in the distance. The sight was truly magnificent. Shot taken with a Nikon D60, 18-55 Nikkor VR lens.
This is a very popular spot for photographers in Canyonlands National Park, Utah. I’m very thankful that I got a chance to be there early one morning in May 2008. Fascinating to see how the glow and the light changed while the sun was getting up.
The day was horrible, persistant rain and heavy showers ( I’ve been told there is a difference ) and blowing a gale. I noticed a break in the clouds on the horizon and took a gamble that it would clear around sunset. I high-tailed it up to the forest and was blessed, for once, with the most amazing lighting I’d ever seen. The New Forest pony was the icing on the cake as far as I was concerned. I used a Canon 20D and a Sigma 10-20mm lens. This was shot in Raw and processed using PS CS2. The processing was: change colour balance / levels / curves / slightly lighten the pony and land with an adjustment layer / sharpen / save This was taken in the New Forest National Park in Southern England.
A misty morning blended with an image by Marcus Ranum in CS3. The lady’s forlorn demeanor and “all dressed up with nowhere to go” image made me think of Karen Carpenter’s song “Looking for Love…” / Though people say love is everywhere, / I’m looking for love, but it’s just not there For those interested, the background image was processed, the figure placed (which automatically gives a second layer) and blended using the opacity slider, “blend if” options in the blending mode, and erase tool. A shadow was produced with the burn tool, and light controlled on the figure with dodge, burn, and a white brush at about 5%. The blur tool was also used around any hard edges to help the figure blend into the b/g and not appear sharp and ‘dropped in’. Most of these actions were done on separate layers in order to be able to switch them on and off individually and ensure the correct effect was achieved. It also prevents ruining the whole image – if something doesn’t work, just delete that particular layer! This little gem can be found just around the corner from Loch Ard Gorge near Port Campbell off Victoria’s Great Ocean Road, Australia. I came here the afternoon before and there were snap happy tourists everywhere but decided to come back the next morning and there wasn’t a soul in sight, just the crashing ocean to keep me company… Unfortunately as of early June 2009 this archway has collapsed leaving two apostles next to eachother. Surely one of the most treasured spots to sit and watch as a new day breaks. Lake Louise, Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada / July, 2009 Lake Louise, set in the Banff National Park in Canada is perhaps known as the Diamond of the Rockies for no other reason than its sheer beauty alone. Having arrived in Canada on the previous afternoon after a long trans-Atlantic flight, the idea to beat the effects of jet lag were adopted with a 3am alarm call and the chance to shoot Lake Louise in all its splendour at dawn. Following a 45 mins drive from Banff accompanied along the way with storms over the mountains lighting the otherwise black night sky, we arrived at Lake Louise in good time for sunrise. Some may know the lake as a bustling tourist spot with coaches coming and going throughout the day. Dropping off their cargo at the water’s edge to take in the majesty of Louise before whisking them off to a further destination all to the sound of clicking shutters and the gentle whir of digital handy-cams. For Claire and I the experience was to sit alone in silence; the only guests at Natures matinee performance… The dedication to early starts could not be better rewarded.
The glory of the sunrise is reflected in one of the many rock pools located on the coastline, along The Great Ocean Road. Pentax K20D Camera – S.speed 6 Sec – f27 – ISO 100 / Sigma 18 -125 mm lens – 21mm / Edited in ACDSee Pro3. My Bubblesite showcases images in their categories.

august 2009 Golden Light Sunrise on Bow Lake—Banff National Park. / Canadian Rocky Mountains
Mesa Arch, in Canyonlands National Park, Utah, faces east and is a perfect location for a dramatic sunrise image. The clouds blocked the horizon at sunrise, but my patience was rewarded when the sun suddenly broke through a small gap in the clouds for a brief moment.
It was a magical morning at Lake Louise. The sun was just coming up, clouds were moving in. Here the early sun rays hit the glacier and the clouds. A little later it got more cloudy and the sun light disappeared. / f/22, 10 sec, ISO 100, focal length 20 mm / Nikon D80 Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada Best viewed larger
