  • In a red sunset, a real symbol of being home. ralphs cross is on the top of the north york moors, on blakey ridge, between kirby moorside and guisborough. / i live in the north york moors national perk, on the heritage coast.

  • at Danby, this was also known as Danby castle bridge. built around 1385. it bears the arms of the Latimer, and De Roos families. danby castle was built by robert brus, who i think built guisborough priory. danby castle was also where catherine parr spent her last days. sorry i cannot put this in any of the appropriate categories.

  • this fall is very near my home, and although it was on my list, on the ordnance survey map i had never seen it! inspired by the visit of tall guy, and robert hardy, lance markham and i decided we would go see. (priorities don’t always allow flexibility of visits) just look at this, very few people who live here know of it’s existence! it is just 6/7 minutes from my house!

  • the sun setting over rudland rigg, above farndale, viewed from danby beacon. / the beacon is a new addition to the moor, and is actually gas operated. / we are looking right across danby, castleton, fryup dale, danby high moor, rosedale head, blakey ridge, farndale, and rudland rigg, probably around 10 miles as the crow flies. / taken this evening in the north york moors national park.

  • this is behind the heron in the last upload. the water held by the weir, the favourite place of the heron, watching for salmon. you can see in earlier pictures, the long curve it forms heading to what used to be the mill, now flats. / LOOK

In a nearby cabin, also built by her. SHe lived about 35 years.   • the cemetary in hinderwell, north york moors national park. i was kneeling down in the dark, near the top of the deserted cemetary, for this shot, when someone came up behind me! you should have seen me go! / it looks light, but thats the exposure, it really was so dark i had trouble finding my way out! lol!

I was only 40 feet from him…he seemed ok with me photographing him, however his love interest was not so sure…she bolted before I could rattle off a few…this is a lucky one.
