I know the title doesn’t make much sense, but the photograph was taken by my friend Irina who is a computer programmer; she believes the reason she likes this photo so much has something to do with her being a programmer. I guess, it’s the binary arrangement of trees: 0101010101010101… :) That must be the reason.

Looking through the bus window on the way home, I see this playful movement of light and dark shades, between leaves and branches. It is a moment to be captured. Real image with no additional painting… The light painted it on my camera’s ccd sensor! I have set the camera on manual zoom, manual speed and aperture, so that the motion can be capture on shutter release. Behind the glass window of a moving bus, I hunt for the right angle of sun and the right tree, and follow throught the target like taking an image of a sport player. All about timing and a bit of luck! Love to see critiques and comments. All welcome. Taken from the parking lot at Clingmans Dome,GSMNP. The mountain was named for Brigadier General Thomas Lanier Clingman, by Arnold Guyot a geographer. Clingman in the 1850’s was the first to accurately measure the height of the mountain. The mountain was called Kuwa’hi (the mulberry place) by the Cherokee. This is where the legendary great bear chief and doctor dwelled.In whose magic bath the wounded bears are restored to health…Settlers first called it Smoky Dome then later was called Mount Buckley before Guyot named it offically

A male yellow headed blackbird near Oxbow Bend, Grand Teton National Park, USA. Nesting amongst reeds in marshes, the yellow headed blackbird feeds on insects and seeds. Migratory in nature, yellow headed blackbirds breed through the central United States into northern Canada. Winter grounds extend from the southwestern United States well into central Mexico. Common among songbirds, the male is the one blessed with spectacular plumage while females sport drab black and brown feathering. While the yellow headed blackbird is a flagrantly beautiful bird, it’s normal call is entirely non-melodic, raucous and harsh. Taken in Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming, USA. Pretty much a tourist snapshot of the Falls, which I thought I would share with you ! / A rather crowded place, justifiably so, who wouldn’t want to see this sight ? The Canyon has some amazing colours, and I found the best time was towards evening to be viewed at it’s best. The vertiginous slopes are very loose and crumbly, and I wondered how those trees maintain their perilous foothold !! Shot on a Canon EOS 40D, polariser, tripod, f22, 1/3 sec, iso 100, auto wb, RAW file processed in PS CS3, levels/curves/selective colour adjustments.
