There had been fires up there a year before. its why the trees look this way, I found it interesting and started to take the trees against that sky.

Originally I thought this was an albino peacock…But have done some research and come up with this – “The White Peacock is frequently mistaken for an albino, but it is a colour variety of Indian Blue Peacock.” It was a very magestic bird and beautiful to see him fan his tail feathers. As we drove out of our Lodge in Amboseli on the final morning of our stay , at sunrise, there was a herd of Buffalo heading for the waterhole, kicking up the ever present dust. Their hooves made a wonderful sound in the silence.The scene lasted only seconds, but will be forever imprinted on my mind. The eternal struggle for existence,of many animals, to reach water, without being attacked by a predator, crossed my mind as I frantically shot my image. / You snooze, you lose !! / Mount Kilimabjaro peers through the thick dust, barely discernable. I always wanted a “classic” kind of Elk shot, where one can see the steam coming out of their nose and mouth after the Bugle, with snow falling and such, and I think I finally was able to get it ! Algonquin Park Ontario, CANADA / September 26th 2009 / Nikon D40, Nikkor VR 55-200mm lens We first came upon Roxy sitting in the middle of the road in front of the ranger station and entry gate to Algonquin Park, northeast side, on the way to Grand Lake. As soon as we parked, she approached us and alternately scampered about the parking lot. / She was so sweet and kept quickly coming close to me to inspect what I was doing as I madly tried to capture her image with the zoom lens I had on the camera. / I loved the gentle inquisitive look in her eyes. I really wanted to pet her but knew better, despite my compulsion to name this little red fox, she is a wild animal with very pointy little teeth. This was taken at the Paradise Wildlife Park. One of 2 White Lion Cubs that were born there in April of this year. I just love the size of their paws at that age, so cute. Had a hard time dragging myself away from watching them play, but they were waiting to shut the park. :D…

I searched the internet for a really long exposure of Tahquamenon Falls but couldn’t find one. So I figured that my first real shot with my new 10 stop filter would be of this amazing falls. This is a blend of 3 long exposure shots. The first one was 4 minutes, the correctly exposed one was 5 minutes and the bright one was 6 minutes. / Black and white to come soon. / Canon xsi / B+W nd 1000 / B+W CPL

Converted the color long exposure to LAB color and used the lightness channel as a base. Added a cooling filter to give it that icy cool. / Canon XSi / B+W nd1000 / B+W CPL
