Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado…..and how I love shooting up there when the winter weather begins to roll on in…the wind is bad, the air—-freezing cold, but the images that one can capture are filled with atmosphere and drama, case in point, this shot here. I about froze my butt off getting this shot of Mummy Mountain, but I wanted something that really showed all the detail here….that represented what it’s all about being a nature photographer in Colorado…... / Thoughts welcomed! / HDR blending used to bring out more dramatic light and detail / John

Originally I thought this was an albino peacock…But have done some research and come up with this – “The White Peacock is frequently mistaken for an albino, but it is a colour variety of Indian Blue Peacock.” It was a very magestic bird and beautiful to see him fan his tail feathers. THIS WAS TAKEN IN MILLENNIUM PARK IN CHICAGO IN THE REFLECTIVE POOL. THE REFLECTIONS WERE SO CLEAR, DESPITE THE WEATHER BEING GREY AND OVERCAST! I LOVE HOW IF YOU LOOK CLOSELY YOU CAN SEE THAT THE WATER IS ONLY A COUPLE OF INCHES DEEP AND YOU CAN SEE THE GROUND THROUGH IT

Lake Falls in Matthiessen State Park is possibly the most magical, spiritual waterfall I have ever photographed. It is special and always blesses me with a wonderful spiritual feel to it. It inspires me to be religous in some way that I cannot explain. / The whirlpool is like God. He has no beginning and no end.
