  • This was taken just as the sun had come up. It had been a wet and stormy night, and I was out trying to photograph lightning but was unsuccessful, so I found a nice spot that I had come across the day before and thought would make a nice spot for a sunrise shoot. When I arrived at the spot, it was still raining and overcast and I was expecting sunrise to be ruined by the cloud cover, but I decided to wait around for a while before heading back to camp. Shortly after sunrise, the clouds started to break up and I saw a gap in the clouds starting to open up, and then I started to see some colour breaking though the clouds, so I got my camera and tripod out the back of the car and set up and waited. Suddenly some sunlight came out from the clouds and the landscape in front of me lit up and became bathed in golden light. You can see some rain coming down in the top right hand corner of the photo behind the mountain range which was another bonus! The light didn’t last very long though, maybe 5-10 mins, then it became overcast again and started to rain again, so I packed up and headed back to camp. It didn’t clear up again till around midday on that day, but it was a spectacular sunrise and one of my favourite photos, and I hope you all enjoy it as much as I enjoyed shooting it. EOS 20D. • Another shot of Kings Park I took back in December 2008. You’ve just gotta love the colours of the place, it’s just so harmonious and beautiful. I took this shot in the middle of the road, with people thinking I was setting up a speed camera. I swear they all slowed down, which was even better for me because I can make the stream of lights flow nicer.

  • Elephants Rocks, Denmark, Western Australia. For Beth, my twin-sis. Another image from one of my favourite places. The day of our visit, it amazed me how many people stood on the top of these rocks and then turned back to the carpark, missing the view of the rocks from this point and all the wonderful coastline around the corner. Still, that means we had it to ourselves!! For enquires about canvas prints, or photographic prints larger than Redbubble options, please contact me via bubblemail

  • Nina is one of only two remaining wild born Western Lowland gorillas at the Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle. She is a grand old lady somewhere between 40 and 50 years old and she is wonderful! She has a fantastic sense of humor. She will sit looking so stoic for a while, then all of a sudden she will stick her tongue out and make faces! I just adore her! The Western Lowland Gorilla is a subspecies of the Western Gorilla that lives in montane, primary, and secondary forests and lowland swamps in Angola, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Congo, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea and Gabon. Adult male Gorillas are prone to cardiomyopathy, a degenerative heart disease. Babec, a Western Lowland Gorilla on exhibit at the Birmingham Zoo in Birmingham, Alabama (USA) was the first gorilla to receive an artificial pacemaker. Binti Jua, who resides at Brookfield Zoo in Illinois, saved a three year old boy who fell into her enclosure in 2003. / The Western Lowland Gorilla is critically endangered. The gorilla is vulnerable to Ebola, deforestation, and poaching. Canon Rebel XTi – Canon 70-300mm lens / 131 views FEATURED:CEE’S FUN ARTSY FRIENDS GROUP 11-18-09 / / FEATURED:EYE CONTACT 11-20-09 /
