  • Cranmer Park in Denver, CO. The snowfall here this week was insane. The park was a winter wonderland to many. Kids were sledding and adults were able to snowshoe and cross country ski around the park.

  • Taken at Minnehaha Falls in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This is actually the snow covered, frozen over river that flows to the falls and not a path like you might think. Beautiful area. I had a lot of fun with these shots.

  • This is one of the many waterfalls on the way to Wallace Falls and is located on the Woody Trail Route. This area is located in Gold Bar, Washington. This one is located on a small trail to the left mid way to the Middle Wallace Falls. This is considered a State Park. Edith

  • Mountain Valley in the Cape Breton Highlands National Park

  • An early Spring morning foggy view of a park in my home town of Manalapan, New Jersey.

  • Prince Edward island, smallest province in Canada but big in spectacular landscapes

  • A trail through Malibu Creek State Park in Southern California.

  • Myra Canyon Kettle Valley Railway in Kelowna, British Columbia. In August 2003, a fire destroyed 14 of 18 trestles, 12 of which were wooden, and 2 were steel. A $13.5-million partnership was formed between the provincial and federal governments to rebuild the historic Myra Canyon trestles. They began reconstruction in 2004 and the 15 kilometre trail was reopened June 2008.

  • A wonderful twisted part of the bord walk beside one of the many ponds and lakes throught the park.

  • The Cabot Trail is a world-famous drive which encircles the northern part of Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada. It’s named after John Cabot of Bristol, who is thought to have landed on the eastern (Atlantic) side of the island in 1497. The Trail starts and ends at the village of Baddeck, on the Bras D’Or Lakes, Though it’s a spectacular drive at any time of year, autumn adds the glory of amazing colour, as the hardwood trees turn into their fall foliage. But time is short, the first Atlantic gale will strip many of the leaves, so if you go, mid to late September and to about the middle of October is the best. / This photo was taken near Grand Anse,in Cape Breton Highlands National Park, but every turn of the road is another vista. / Taken in early October, 2006, with a Sony DSCF828 camera.

  • A walk along the Hallett Cove Conservation Park board-walk along the cliffs leads to a waterfall , Best to see after rain in winter. In summer, especially in drought, it is usually dry and relies on rain to flow.

  • A pen and ink sketch of my partner, Diane, waiting on a bench until I finish my sketch. Tohono Chul Park is a wonderful urban park in Tucson that has several older fine homes on it devoted to art galleries, gift shops and restaurants. These are surrounded by meandering trails through their lush enhanced, though very natural, gardens of native Sonoran Desert vegetation. It’s beautiful and peaceful. / She’s shaded by a Palo Verde tree and rocks and a century plant created the natural composition. Drawn in my Canson sketch book, 5.5”x8.5” acid free recycled paper

  • Shot with Canon 450D. No adjustments, straight from camera. / Exp: 1/15sec, f11. ISO 200, lens 18-55mm, focal length 45mm. / PLACED 7TH IN THE WESTERN AUSTRALIA GROUP’S ‘DECEMBER’ CHALLENGE / 14 December 2009 / 3 November 2009 Walks in and around the National Park: ” * THE DUKE’S WALK—Easy 400 m loop to view the karri forest at close quarters. * KARRI VIEWS—Easy 800 m walk to the edge of the Eastbrook Valley. Offers views across the park. * THE CASCADES—Easy 1.2 km, 30 minute loop crossing the Lefroy Brook and The Cascades. * GLOUCESTER TREE WALK—Moderate 3 km walk from Pemberton Townsite to the Gloucester Tree. * GLOUCESTER ROUTE—Moderate 10 km walk that leads over hills and down gullies to hidden creeks and waterfalls. * GLOUCESTER TREE TO CASCADES WALK—12 km, return featuring Eastbrook Valley, karri forest and views.” / Source: Dept Environment and Conservation I don’t know which walk we were on as we weren’t carrying a map, but it was probably the Gloucester Route as we were certainly travelling down hills and gullies which were taking us further and further downwards rather than back to our starting point, so, rather than get lost we turned back the way we came. At this time of year (October/November) the walks are an absolute delight with an array of native plants in flower. Click here to visit my Red Bubble Site gallery and view by category.

  • Featured in Which Way – walkways, pathways, stairways and roadways – November 2009 This is the hiking trail down to the beach at Deception Pass in Washington State. On my way back up, I liked the lines of this fence.
