  • This is another one of my Dad’s awesome shots! I hope people don’t mind me uploading some of his work, he doesn’t have time to really devote to having an account of his own and says I should just upload them and pretend they are mine, and if I make any money off them to keep it….awwww! But, I send no, he should get the credit for them as they are his photo’s and also I think they deserve to be seen because I think they are brilliant! (If anyone could come up with a title for this one, it would be most appreciated!)

  • Captured in the Alluvial Fan area of Rocky Mountain National Park, needless to say I am glad my tripod weighs a ton as the wind was almost unbearable when I was shooting this. But Natures drama can make for some great atmospheric shots! Thoughts welcomed! / See more on my website at jdebordphoto.com

  • Sometimes the sun has not been given enough time to go down in style. It is chased out of the sky, its light butchered by dark featureless and easy to forget clouds. Not this evening though. In such a wonderful setting and with all the time in the world, at its own pace, it gently covered the whole universe, material and the other one, with its pink warm residue leaving you with an overwhelming feeling of relief and joy. It is often hard to imagine a place like this for us city slickers, with the clock meaningless, space limitless, and your soul miles away from the tension and stress, the main culprits behind the structural damage of our emotional self. Later that night I was carried through sleep on a cushion of wonderful dreams until the sun made its usual roundtrip. Does this surprise you?

  • It is somewhat rare to have a lot of snowfall at Joshua Tree National Park, however when it does snow, it should not be missed. There are many places on the western part of the park to explore, including Jumbo Rocks. Here, you can see snow covering the creosote bushes and spidery ocotillo. Near the rock are small jumping cholla cactus covered in snow. Some information about this park: / Joshua Tree has some of most unique shaped trees but also has a very interesting and complex rock system. Through erosion the exposed granite monoliths and rocks became worn and loose and sometimes you can find verticle cuts through the rocks, which are referred to as monzogranite. These broken terrace walls, which appear here on the left side is a formation known as a dike, which was formed from molten rock pushing into these joint fractures. These type of rocks can be seen in the areas known as Jumbo Rocks, Wonderland of Rocks, and Split Rock which are labeled on the map of the park and easy to find.

  • A “family of trees” appeared to be caroling in the December snow. The falling flakes were just starting to thin out as the evening light was quickly fading in Indian park. The diffused light lent a very special glow to the scene. This image was captured in Indian Park (a Municipal park) in Montoursville, Pennsylvania. This small stand of trees can be found beside a red arched bridge over Mill Creek. The photo is “straight from the camera” (as-is) and was shot with a Canon EOS 10D body fitted with a Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L Zoom lens, set to the 29mm focal length. The shutter speed was 1/6th sec at f/9.5. The camera’s ISO was set to 100. A Manfrotto, tripod was used with a remote shutter release cable. Your comments are always welcome! • This is the most beautiful and unusual wooden park bench I have ever seen. It is covered with snow this evening. I think I’ll wait to rest here when it will be a little more comfortable for sitting… besides, it looks too pretty to spoil. This wonderful “bench built for two” can be found in Indian Park (municipal), in Mountoursville, Pennsylvania. It is located right beside the beautiful General John Borrows covered bridge. It is the perfect place for old friends or young lovers to share a lunch on a nice day! The plaque on the bench says: Dedicated to JIM & EVELYN REEDER The photo was shot with a Canon EOS 10D body fitted with a Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L Zoom lens, at the 40mm focal length. The shutter speed was 1/6th sec at f/9.5. The camera’s ISO was set to 100. A Manfrotto, tripod was used with a remote shutter release cable. Your comments are always welcome!
