Morning sun filters through the trees at John Olivers Cabin with a few dogwoods in the background…The cabin is almost completly surrounded by split-rail fence also…...The Oliver’s bought land in the Cove in 1826 and this cabin site remained in the family until the Park was established. The house is typical of many found on the eastern frontier in the mid-1850s, and reflects the skills and techniques brought into the mountains by descendants of British and European immigrants. This cabin is located on the Cades Cove Loop Road, in the Great Smoky Mountain N.P.

However, they are very simple in their construction, and can be assembled with few tools even on hard or rocky ground. They also can be built without using any nails or other hardware; such hardware was often scarce in frontier locations.These fences are sometimes refered to as Worm Fence due to the back and forth placements…This cabin is located on the Cades Cove Loop Road, in the Great Smoky Mountain N.P.

Captured 12/13/2008 on a very frigid morning at Cherry Creek State Park, here in Colorado, I froze my damn keester off because I was dense and forgot to bring along my damn jacket! It was an incredible sunrise folks, one which I won’t forget, the colors changed and developed by the minute, going from the cool blues to the warm pinks, reds, and oranges…and I was able to get something in the shots which I had never had been able to before, the lake actually shimmering! In some of the other shots in days to come, you can really see this, and you kind of can here in the bottom left side a tad, an odd occurrence, and one I finally managed to snag! Long exposure, using my Singh-Ray CPL and Marumi ND4, on my Minolta 18-70 DT Lens, I hope ya all like it, let me know what ya think! / —-John !

After visiting the beautiful Cambewarra Lookout in the Morton National Park south of Sydney, you can meander down the mountain towards Nowra and this is the type of panoramic scenery you will find … Smoke haze is evident here from the bushfires further into the Morton National Park at the time. 7215 I tell ya, I wish I could honestly buy this place if it ever comes up for sale! Captured outside of Estes Park, Colorado, during my Autumn photoshoot, Longs Peak made for an incredible backdrop to the colorful Aspen and this old wooden cabin. This image was captured from Olmsted Point in the high country of Yosemite National Park just before sunset. Half Dome is a true natural wonder of the world in itself and was lit with this wonderful light from the setting sun. The Delaware Water Gap National Recreation area in northeastern Pennsylvania boasts many beautiful streams and waterfalls.
