A bench is a piece of furniture, which mostly offers several persons seating. As a rule, benches are made of wood, but one can also find stone benches and benches made of synthetic materials. Many benches have arm rests. In public areas, benches are often donated by persons or associations, which may then be indicated on it, e.g. by a small copper plaque.(Wikipedia.org)

Emerald Paradise As Is… / Canon PowerShot S3 IS Rainbow Springs Florida’s third largest spring, Rainbow Springs pump 600 million gallons of water daily and serves as the head water to the pristine Rainbow River. The property was acquired by the State Park Service in 1990 and is slowly being allowed to revert to its natural state. / Beautiful floral gardens surround the spring, and the area is immensely popular in the spring when the azaleas are in bloom. The state also acquired Rainbow Springs State Campground, located nearby, which was formerly privately owned. From the campground, you can tube or canoe the crystalline waters of Rainbow River, or fish for large mouth bass and other freshwater species. / A nature trail provides a lovely walk past two waterfalls and the azalea gardens, and meanders along the Rainbow River. / /

My husband has always wanted to run behind a waterfall- he finally got the chance. Let’s just say…..he got very wet but he had a smile on his face.
Everywhere we look right now there is a mass of yellow to be seen. The bush is full of it and all our local walking trails are lined with it. The first indication we have that spring has well and truly arrived. It is, of course, the lovely Wattle, or Acacia Tree and they are flowering in their tens of thousands. / So yesterday, while we were out walking through bushland in our local Yanchep National Park, near Perth in Western Australia, I resolved to try and get a macro shot of some of it. Sounds easy enough but every time I was set up and ready to squeeze the shutter button there was a gust of wind – this would have happened at least half a dozen times. In the end I took a couple of shots more in hope than anything else and this is the result of one of them. / The only post processing was a slight crop to get rid of a distracting branch and also a touch of Unsharp Mask. Other than that it is exactly as taken. / For this shot I used my compact Olympus SP 565 uz because it has a very good super macro function – and I don’t possess a macro lens for my dslr.

This is one of the first portraits I did, for an assignment, when I was taking the NYIP course. Yep, it’s my beautiful mom! :) I just added the texture now.
