fORMaTiNG YOuR TeXt I havent been having too much fun gettin my text written in RB the way i am used to.. formatting that is.. ive had my text cancelled out like this when i put the ”-” symbol between letters – i try and remember not to do that again. Only just now i found another one.. So i thought to self, that i’d better write all these down here in the journal – for future reference : NEW PARAGRAPHS / Press ENTER twice and that will give you a new paragraph automatically. WHEN ON EACH END OF WORD/TEXT : / eg: * bold * (without spaces) symbol * = bolds / / symbol _ = italic symbol ^ = small upper / / symbol – = cancels you out! symbol ~ = makes text smaller / / symbol + = Underlines the text symbol * * * = makes a horizontal rule/line without the spaces / -found by KSERIPHYN_ TO MAKE TEXT CLICKABLE (INTO URL) Put quotation symbols ” ” on each side of the word/sentence you want to make into Links/Clickable and then a COLON (no spaces) straight after, plus the url ; http:// EXAMPLE (i’ve added spaces in between the symbols so that you can see the text – but NO SPACES ” This tip was found whilst reading PDUV’s journal ” : http://www.redbubble.com/people/pduv/journal/show/4812 becomes : This tip was found whilst reading PDUV’s journal TO ADD GRAPHICS INTO YOUR JOURNAL / PLEASE DON’T PUT HUGE PIX, RESIZE/UTILIZE PLACES LIKE IMAGESHACK free image hosting EXAMPLE : (i’ve added spaces in between the symbols so that you can see the text – but NO SPACES) ! http://img216.imageshack.us/img216/6817/formatingrbct6.gif ! becomes TIP : You can do save that gif cheat sheet if you want ;) ADDING GRAPHIC & MAKING IT CLICKABLE (LINKED) / for larger pics you want to show, its a good idea to post the Thumbnail size, / and making the graphic clickable to a larger size. To to that just add the :http://website.uwant.url right after the ending exclamation ! mark of the graphic link ! http://img216.imageshack.us/img216/6817/formatingrbct6.th.gif !:http://img216.imageshack.us/my.php?image=formatingrbct6.gif / becomes NEW! Adding an ALT equivalent to your image / so that when you hover mouse over the image you can read the title of image example (hover mouse over the button): / add the title of your image in a bracket, for example (IMAGE TITLE) in between the last letter of the image URL and the ending exclamation symbol. look at image below / HEADER TEXT (Large fonts) / add symbol # to each side of the word/sentence for header size font. / / but this seems to work only as header, meaning its gotta be the first sentence/text, like a header. i used it up to in the text that says “Formating Your Text” eg : # Is bigger better? # no spaces MAKING BULLET/LIST Make new/update CheatSheet soon done! New Cheatsheet added to bottom of this page and also in portfolio HERE symbol hAsh plus a space then text will make bullets / -found by KSERIPHYN_ / TEXT GENERATOR keong has found this link to TEXTISM a Text Generator that can help you further with formating style that RB uses. For anyone who uses Firefox and has Greasemonkey installed, Dave Pearson has created a script that replaces the existing hints on RedBubble with the cheatsheet (big thanks to Dave!!) NEW! / / / Embedded YouTube / I’VE made this into a Mousepad, click on image to see more! / updated cheatsheet (28 July 2007)

  • Lorem ipsum has become the standard “nonsense” text used to demonstrate page layout and web site designs. No one actually reads it, but perhaps they’d find this version a bit more interesting.

  • Took this outside an urban cd store in Paris 2005.

Wow! I never noticed that writing can be so fun. I can really change into a good mood from a bad one by letting my creative juices flow, conveying my thoughts, emotions. / In grade 2 it was misery whenever I had a writing assignment because I just couldn’t do it. The next year, I made some progress. In grade 4, I gained in confidence. After, I was getting better but didn’t really enjoy it. Finally, I love doing this. Love the way it gives your brain a nice exercise. Love watching the words form as I press the keys. / This incredible hobby starts with just a few lines and curves making letters, making words, making paragraphs, making stories, making treasures, making feelings.

  • “Victorian Volumes” - First Paragraphs

Dear Reader, / Thank you. My Saga “Victorian Volumes” is divided into focus stories from each family member. At the beginning of these “Books” I had an overwhelming urge to write a descriptive prose. I do not know where these pieces came from or why. It was not contrived just written in the pursuit of an indulgent whim. It was only after that I realised each prose held the essence of the ensuing story and all together can be a story in itself, a collection of prose at the very least. I hope you enjoy my work and come to realise that you won’t know the whole story until you have heard all the tales. / Enjoy! ~ adgray

If it’s not the worst opening paragraph ever, it is, at least, the worst one I can consciously remember writing. Bleehhh!

  • My Mom sent me this poem years ago. She wanted me to make copies & send it back. So I did & forgot about it. When we were cleaning out her house after she passed away, I found a copy of this. So I took it home with me, to remember her. Then one day I was down in the dumps all day, I tried to sleep that night but could not. So in the middle of the night, since I could not sleep I got up to look for something on my desk when I fell upon this. I felt like my Mom was there in the spirit of God to comfort me.

As many of you already know, i made the *Unofficial RedBubble CheatSheet” over a year ago for my own reference and posted in my journal here and now it is the most viewed and favourited piece in my gallery.. Some people had jokingly suggested that i make it into a t-shirt, but of course it would be hard to use it as a reference tool if it was on a tshirt (I even considered it printing it upside down so one could use it as resource while wearing it! hahah) Today out of the blue an idea popped into my head… Print it on a Mousepad! That way its there always on the desk and easily looked at when you need to know. So as RedBubble dont make Mousepads, i decided to make a quick one at Zazzle! I’ve made this just for fun – but i think it has lots of potential – and make make another one.. with all fancy graphics and fonts, when i have some time, maybe.. So for those of you’s that would like one on your desk.. click on the image below to take you to my Zazzle shop and for those who like me who not so financial.. ive included a large capture of the mousepad.. that you can print out and pretend you have the mousepad..hehehehe just click/save as HERE Happy Holidays everyone!

  • My entry to “http://www.redbubble.com/groups/t-shirt-revolution/challenges/4479-24hr-challenge-1-paragraph”. When I opened up my encyclopedia the first site I saw was one with “m” and I picked the paragraph about music. It says something like this in English: “Music(from the Greek word “μουσική”- Art of the Muses) is a form of art organized in time through various elements like for example pitches that create melodies and harmony, rythm but also timbre and texture as sonic qualities.[...]” I wanted to show the different cultural personalities that music has, so I wrote down the word “music” in many different languages of countries from all over the world, and even wrote each in another typo(all drawn by hand). Music styles vary a lot around the globe, but it’s always MUSIC and has the power to bring people together. / The message of this design shall be “Music connects people” / XO I hope you understand what I mean^^

  • My entry for the 24hr Challenge: 1 Paragraph over at A Tshirt Revolution. I went to bookcase and grabbed the old beaten n battered copy of Skeleton Crew, a collection of Stephen King’s short stories. Upon opening i found myself reading an old favourite …..... The Raft. Here’s the paragraph … / “Randy was halfway to the raft when he saw the black patch on the water. It was beyond the raft and to the left of it, more out toward the middle of the lake. Five minutes later the light would have failed too much for him to tell it was anything more than a shadow … if he had seen it at all. Oil slick? he thought, still pulling hard through the water, faintly aware of the girls splashing behind him. But what would an oil slick be doing on an October deserted lake? Anybody who’s read it (or seen the short movie in Creepshow 2) will know this ain’t no oil slick. Ink pen sketch on some halftone action /
